The “Stronger” singer — who released two holiday albums in 2021 When Christmas comes… and in 2013 Wrapped in red — will take the stage at Rockefeller Center in New York to perform a set full of festive songs. Her appearance on the nine-decade tradition marks 20 years since she first appeared on the holiday special and comes after she recently moved her Emmy-winning talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show to NBC’s home base at 30 Rockefeller Plaza.
The Grammy winner shared a statement in a press release about the upcoming event. She said, “I’m so excited to call this city and Rockefeller Center my new home and I can’t think of a better way to start Christmas this year than to be a part of this wonderful New York tradition with the tree lighting!”
The hitmaker/TV host shared the announcement herself and talked about how excited she is to return to the classic special on Thursday The Kelly Clarkson Show. “Speaking of fun things happening in New York, I have a little bit of news that I’m really excited about. As you know, lighting the holiday tree in New York is a legendary tradition. The tree itself is spectacular, but it is only part of the big event,” said the star.
“I had the opportunity to perform on NBC for the first time Christmas at Rockefeller Center 20 years ago, and I’m thrilled to reveal that I’ll be getting the chance to do so again — this time in my new home at 30 Rock,” she continued. “And I’m not just singing — I’m actually going to be hosting the whole thing.”

I really wanted to be in Montana, but you still can’t do a show there. So I said, ‘The only other option would probably be New York.'”
