When Divyansh Kacholia was studying in Class VIII, he started banging on the school benches and making different sounds. One of his seniors suggested to him that it was an art form called ventriloquism. Speaking to the media, Divyansh Kacholia said that he became aware of the ventriloquism skills at that time. He said,
That day, when I came home from school, I studied ventriloquism. From then on, there was no looking back. Although it was difficult to convince my parents of this art form. However, slowly, they understood. “
When Divyansh was in eleventh grade, a musician in Jaipur heard Divyansh Kacholia singing and ventriloquising at a local shop. The musician invited Divyansh Kacholia to perform at a local concert and Divyansh was paid Rs. Give him 100 points for his performance. According to Divyansh, he performed four or five shows with the same band, which inspired him to practice beatboxing more and also increased his confidence in beatboxing. Later, in college, Divyansh Kacholia met world beatbox champion SkillerR, who inspired him to try his beatboxing skills at a professional level. SkillerR recommended that he practice beatboxing 15-16 hours a day. Divyansh Kacholia said that before meeting SkillerR, he practiced beatboxing for two hours every day. He said,
In Delhi I happened to meet SkillerR, a professional beatboxer who told me that I had a special ability and that I just needed to hone my skills. He told me that professional beatboxers practice about 15-16 hours a day. Mainly there is almost no 1-2 ghante practice karta tha pehle. Before meeting SkilleR, I was doing ventriloquism as a hobby. After meeting him, I decided to continue my professional development. “
Later, famous Indian singer Shaan performed at the Kala Ghoda Festival with Divyansh Kacholia and appeared in the music show ARRived as a ventriloquist in 2018 with Shah Rukh Khan and AR Rahman.
On April 17, 2022, Divyansh and his teammate Manuraj Singh Rajput were announced as the winners of season 9 of the television reality show “India’s Got Talent”. They received a car and a cash prize of Rs 20 lakh for winning the competition.
