Dog the Bounty Hunter’s Daughter Bonnie Chapman Reveals How She Lost 60 Lbs. in 10 Months: ‘I Want to Tone My New Body’

Bonnie Chapman — daughter of Duane “The Bounty Dog” Chapman and his late wife Beth Chapman — gets candid about her dramatic weight loss.

In an Hey! News In an interview published on Sunday, November 24, the A&E student, 25, opened up about her lifelong struggles with weight and how she lost 60 lbs. in 10 months using the slimming drug Tirzepatide.

Chapman told the paper that she had been “trying to lose weight since I was probably 18” through a variety of methods, including the Mediterranean diet and the paleo diet. The content creator said she had tried Ozempic before but stopped because she “hated” it.

Chapman then tried Tirzepatide in December 2023 after consulting with her medical team and “lost about 10 pounds” after two weeks.

Chapman attributed some of her weight problems to her diagnosis of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which is “a hormonal imbalance that occurs when your ovaries produce excess hormones,” according to the Cleveland Clinic.

The medical center noted that “between 40% and 80% of people with polycystic ovary syndrome are obese and have trouble maintaining a weight that is healthy for them.”

“I felt like my hormones were trying to keep up, and that just made things worse,” she said of her past weight loss attempts. “I’d gain more weight when I exercised. I’d try these hormone balance exercises and they wouldn’t do anything. I’d try going to saunas. But nothing seemed to work.”

She has since found that the weight loss drug has helped her curb her cravings and has reached her goal weight of 130 lbs, while starting at 196 lbs.

Chapman said, “Once I started noticing that I was getting full a lot quicker, I could actually eat half of my meal. And I was like, ‘Okay, I’m good. I feel really full.’ ‘ ”

The reality TV star said her relationship with food worsened after losing her mother to throat cancer in 2019 and again when her house burned down in April 2023.

I just didn’t feel healthy, I didn’t feel good, Chapman recalled. “I’ve used food as a comfort for most of my life and I realized I can’t do that anymore. I need to make healthier changes so I can be here for a longer time with the people I love.”

On November 2, Chapman shared a video on Instagram in which she talks about her weight loss. She said that Tirzepatide encouraged her to make healthier choices when it came to her diet.

“Sometimes when I would eat something too sweet, I wouldn’t feel good afterwards and I realized that if I wanted to feel great all the time, I needed to put things in my body that I could be proud to say I ate,” she said in the video.

She also noted that she plans to focus on other fitness goals now that she has reached her goal weight.

“I think, if anything, I want to tone my new body and I want to make sure I can shed the fat if I stay,” she said.
