Spiders are actually pretty “wacky deaky” for Doja Cat.
On Instagram and Unwell’s new podcast Only close friendswhich debuted Thursday, the 28-year-old “Woman” musician opened up to Ice Spice about her dislike of the creatures, despite having spider tattoos and Crimson album cover with a spider motif,
While Doja (whose real name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini) talked about being “100 percent” an animal person, she told the “Barbie World” rapper (whose real name is Isis Naija Gaston), 23, that she doesn’t like bugs.
“Fucking bugs. They’re not animals to me, though. They’re creatures from freaking space,” she told Ice Spice.
Ice Spice also said she has an aversion to “mostly insects” and is “very afraid of spiders”.
“And people who have pet spiders, I’m afraid of them too,” said musician “Munch” Doji.
“I don’t like spiders. I have them all over my body. They are part of my whole…” Doja trailed off, before Ice Spice replied, “You’ll attract some spiders with that.”
“I know. I feel like I am, but it’s like conquering fear,” the “Say So” singer replied.

Ice Spice mentioned that she likes butterflies because they are “not insects” to her, with which Doja agreed and called them “cute”.
“I’ll take a butterfly, a ladybug, you know what I mean?” joked Doja.
“Moths might as well go to hell,” Ice Spice retorted, to which Doja mostly agreed, “Y— moth. Except some moths are really freaking cool looking.”
Elsewhere in the episode, Ice Spice opened up about her first celebrity crush, “I feel like you can learn a lot about someone from this: Who was your first celebrity crush?” Doja asked Ice Spice.
At first, the rising rap star acted coy. “It’s so embarrassing,” she said, giggling. “I shouldn’t say that, should I? Do I need to say that?”

While Doja assured Ice Spice that she didn’t have to reveal the name, she explained that it wasn’t embarrassing as long as the apple of her eye wasn’t in her generation.
“It can’t be because I was a kid,” the Grammy-nominated rapper replied.
But she immediately relented and said: “I’ll just say it.” It was Usher.”
Ice Spice then mentioned that she had a full-circle moment when she bumped into the R&B icon, 45, at the 2023 Met Gala.
“I saw him at the Met Gala. I was like — the first time I ever saw him — I’m like, ‘Oh my God, that’s him,'” she recalled.
Doja agreed that “Yes!” the singer is indeed “beautiful”.
