Dolores Catania Defends Dorinda Medley's Traitors Outburst Because 'Emotions Are Not Rational in the Housewife World'

Dorinda Medley didn’t make it pretty enough in the Traitors castle.

The The Real Housewives of New York The alum, 60, expressed her frustration at being left behind in the first mission of Season 3, and as a result, the Traitors killed her first.

Medley’s co-hostess and Traitors co-star Dolores Catania also stayed on the first mission, but handled things differently from Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip star.

“I couldn’t be mad at everyone for my decision,” Catania, 54, told host Alan Cumming on Traitors season 3 premiere party at the Cummings Club in New York “So I was a little quiet when Dorinda was yelling at everybody.”

Catania admitted that she “made the mistake of challenging” Medley in the past and learned, “You have to let the Housewives calm down first.”

“Is that true?” Cumming wondered. Catania then doubled down, explaining, “Yeah, emotions aren’t rational in the Housewives world!”

Cumming continued by asking what to do after the Housewife calmed down.

“Then tell them how you feel,” he said The Real Housewives of New Jersey said the star. “Or get them drunk and have some fun and try to forget what just happened. So you can still have a job.”

“At one point I said, ‘I think I need to go back to street school because I’m exhausted,'” Catania said. “You’ll be very surprised how things turned out.”

The first mission of Season 3 required contestants to row a rowboat together around a lake and capture a maximum of $40,000, while dropping off two contestants at each of five pontoon stations along the way. Catania and Medley, as well as fellow housewives Chanel Ayan, Dolores Catania and Robyn Dixon and Sam Asghari, The biggest loserBop Harper, traitors Bob the Drag Queen and Danielle Reyes volunteered to stay for the entire mission on the January 9 premiere.

The group eventually decided that, given the time they had left, it would be better for them to turn around and return to land with the $20,000 they had taken rather than go in search of the last $20,000. They came back with half the potential prize money and secured all but eight players safe from the kill. The safe contestants returned to the castle at the end of the mission, while those on the pontoons waited for rescue.

When Medley finally returned to the castle with the other volunteers, she asked the group why they didn’t go get the last $20,000.

“We were all very tired,” Dylan Efron explained.

Medley didn’t like that answer.

“You may be tired, but we can be killed,” Medley replied. “You felt so bad that they stole money for our lives. They felt so bad. We eat what’s left and we’re going to be killed tonight. It’s wild that I didn’t even see the effort. When I got up, there was no echo saying, ‘No, no, let me go.’ I never would have done what I did for the team if I knew it wasn’t all in.”

survived’with Jeremy Collins pointed out that the traitor may have resigned voluntarily because they knew they would not be killed.

“I don’t have a plan,” Medley assured. “When I saw that Dolores turned out to be another housewife, as a woman, someone who is loyal, someone who is a mama bear, someone who works for the team…”

“Someone who could be a traitor,” Lord Ivar Mountbatten stepped in.

Medley then called out the British royal, 61, for not moving “even remotely” to get off the ship during the mission.

“I put myself out there to be killed tonight,” Medley said. “If I succeed tonight, things will change. I pray to God. Well, Housewives shows true. We were the first to leave. It tells everyone who we are.”

The medley failed because Drag Queen Bob, 38, Reyes, 52, and third traitor Carolyn Wiger decided to kill the Bravolebrity, thinking it might implicate Mountbatten.

Alan Cumming adds 3 surprise players Traitors Season 3: Find out which reality legends have joined the game

During a live stream on YouTube on Friday, January 10, Bob the Drag Queen urged fans upset about Medley’s early elimination to “get over it.”

“We decided Dorinda was going to be the death of us. This really pissed people off on the internet,” RuPaul’s Drag Race said the star. “I don’t know this woman. I don’t know that she is this icon Real Housewives. I don’t know if she’s making a scene. I have no idea who Dorinda is, so I said, ‘Girl, kill her.’ I don’t know, let’s choose someone, because they are all strangers to me.”
