Donna Kelce Says Sons Jason and Travis Are ‘Very Nurturing, Very Kind’ in Their Roles as Father and Uncle

Donna Kelce is proud of the men her sons have become.

IN GlamourWomen of the Year 2024: The Moms Edition, Kelce, 71, spoke candidly about the transition from mother to grandmother to her 36-year-old son Jason Kelce’s three children. She also talked about what it was like to see her younger son Travis Kelce, 34, as an uncle.

“It’s fun! It’s just fun to see how your kids deal with their kids—trying to figure out what kind of parent he’s going to be, watching his son become a father like, ‘How can I be so gentle and be such a maniac on the court?’ ” said Kelce, referring to her Jason, who has daughters Wyatt (5), Elliott (3) and Bennett (1) with his wife Kylie Kelce.

“Travis is a good uncle and Jason is a great dad, and it’s really nice to know that they have it in them to be very caring, very kind, very gentle — especially with the girls,” Kelce continued.

Their “touching” actions are not surprising. Kelce tried to keep them grounded and remind them that they were “just like everyone else” as their careers began to blossom, she told Glamour.

“I think you just bring up the things they did when they were kids just to show them they’re just like everybody else — how many broken windows there were, how many times the neighbor called me,” Kelce said.

“They weren’t mean or bad kids; they were just very rowdy,” she continued. “I think it just takes them back to their childhood — what they’re most grateful for and where they were able to have a platform to grow.”

In November 2023, Donna also talked about Travis’ role as an uncle, telling PEOPLE that it’s something he “loves” and “loves kids, period.”

She described the Kansas City Chiefs tight end as a “really good uncle” because he’s “so good and lively” and said his nieces love him.

“He’s a child too. It just feels like one of them. I don’t think he will ever grow up,” she added.
