Donny Osmond began his work as part of the performing group The Osmonds at an early age, alongside his siblings Alan, Jay, Merrill and Wayne. The trio quickly became regulars on The Andy Williams Show after a good tryout. In 1963, he made his stage debut with the song “You Are My Sunshine”. After a string of successful songs and records in his teens, he became an adolescent hero. After the Osmonds split in the 1980s, each sibling pursued their own careers in hopes of reaching a more mature audience. In 1974, he and his sister Marie Osmond started their own TV entertainment show, The Donny & Marie Show. The program ran on ABC from 1976 to 1979. After Pyramid, he hosted The Great American Dream Vote (2007) and Identity. He returned to Donny & Marie for two years following the series’ 1998 reboot.
Furthermore, as a solo artist, he produced 17 studio recordings, including The Donny Osmond Album (1971), A Time for Us (1973), Eyes Don’t Lie (1990), Somewhere in Time (2002), and The Soundtrack of My Life ( 2004).
