The 17-year-old became the PDC’s youngest ever world champion, unseating Van Gerwen, who won his first title aged 24, from his position.

Littler has now amassed more than £1.5m in prize money since turning pro in January 2024.

Nuke’s monumental victory vaulted him to No. 2 in the world rankings, which are based on prize money over a two-year period.

The teenage sensation was on media duty at the Hilton Hotel in Angelo, Islington until the early hours after leaving Ally Pally.

But Littler treated his family, who stayed in a London apartment throughout the tournament, to lunch on Saturday.

Photographers snapped some of the Littler clan, including mum Lisa and dad Anthony, going for food before leaving the capital.

Luke opted for comfort as his casual outfit included gray Under Armor tracksuit bottoms and a blue ‘Nuke the Luke’ jumper.

Dad Anthony, 43, could also be seen wearing a navy blue ‘Littler’ hoodie, while Lisa, 40, wrapped up in a body-length beige jacket in the winter chill.

The photos were the last taken in London before the family returned to Warrington.

And just as ice and heavy snowfall fell over the United Kingdom on Saturday night, threatening a game for Littler’s favorite football team.

Manchester United’s trip to Anfield was at risk of being delayed due to safety fears following heavy snow overnight in the North West.

The teenager is a lifelong supporter of United, who currently sit 14th in the Premier League after suffering their worst run of form in decades.

The next thing the public heard about Littler was when he posted a hilarious picture of himself sleeping with the Sid Waddell trophy.

After the hectic end of the tournament, Littler captioned the post, which also showed a picture of his dog, Nala: “Home sweet home. I think Nala loves it too.”

He was seen snuggling with a silver goblet in bed under a Santa Claus cover.

After scooping the £500,000 prize pool, Littler burst into tears on stage as he also jumped from 164th to No.2 in the rankings since last January.

He said: “I can’t believe it. Honestly. I can’t believe it.

“We both played so well. I knew I had to start well and I did.

“Michael was right behind me the whole game.

“Everybody dreams of lifting this trophy. So it’s really a dream come true.”

The Warrington-born ace went 25 out of 45 in doubles, an impressive 55 per cent.

He continued: “I’ve been practicing backstage on tops and tens (D10).

“At 2-0 I started to get nervous, but I told myself ‘just relax’.

“I was pitching for the match, but to finish it and be done with it was special.”

He added: “I could end 2025 winning absolutely nothing. But I picked up the best.

“I want to get more than 10 titles this year. But if I end up with nothing in 2025, I’ve picked up the big one.”

Littler drew a historic TV audience while lighting up Ally Pally.

The teenager’s stardom led to a record Sky Sports crowd of 3.1 million for Friday’s final at Ally Pally.

It is the biggest number the broadcaster has attracted for a non-football event since last year’s final between Littler and Luke Humphries, which peaked at 3.7m.

The darts sensation became a global phenomenon after his fairytale performance at the World Darts Final last January ended in heartbreak.

Littler revealed he re-watched the 2024 final defeat to Humphries ahead of his clash with Van Gerwen to inspire him to victory.

But the only concern 12 months later was when Nuke appeared to injure himself with a trophy on stage during a celebration.

However, his brother insisted it won’t stop the fun – although he admitted there is a limit to what they can do as Luke won’t turn 18 until January 21.

Leon told The Sun of their plans to celebrate: “There’s not much you can do with him, can you? He’s 17.

“He’ll come out, chill his game, maybe order some food. I’ll celebrate for him.”

Littler was pictured handing a wad of cash to his sibling as the family headed for a taxi after leaving Ally Pally.

The champion himself later added his big plans to break Phil Taylor’s astonishing PDC record of 16 world titles.

He continued: “If I want 16 then I’m sure I could get it.

“If deep down, if I really want it, then with my abilities, I’m sure I can achieve much more. But I know I’m in this for a long, long time.

“I just want to try to win as many titles as possible this year. I won ten last year.”

Littler also wants to prioritize getting his driver’s license sorted after his busy schedule left him unable to book lessons last year.

He said: “I’d like to drive before it’s too late. I have always loved Mercedes A-classes.

“Just a small car. I watched the drive last year and loved the Ford Focuses.

“But now I’ve moved up a bit in the world!

“Which model? I have no idea. A-class only. I don’t know the different models.”

The hero is set to defend his Bahrain Darts Masters title on January 16 before going on to defend his Premier League crown in February.
