SAAOL Heart Center False Claims

Dr. Bimal Chhajer of Saaol Heart Center boldly claims to treat heart disease through natural bypass surgery and biochemical angioplasty. Yatish, a man in his 70s, was bewildered by the claims and underwent treatment in the hope of a healthier heart. However, five months later, Yatish’s angiogram results at Fortis Hospital showed that the degree of blockage in his heart had not improved, at 95% and 80-90% respectively. Feeling cheated, Yatish filed a complaint with the Rajasthan State Commission, accusing Dr. Chhajer and Saaol Heart Center of unfair trade practices by falsely promising to remove the blockage without surgery. The doctor’s defense proved weak as he cited a letter of satisfaction and a consent form for treatment signed by Atish, but the state board found these to be irrelevant as the patient’s condition had not improved. The committee found the doctor guilty of unfair trading practices and deceptive representation, saying his claims that heart disease could be cured through natural bypass and biochemical angioplasty were false representations. Therefore, Dr. Chhajer was ordered to compensate Yatish. As per the order, Yatish will receive a total of Rs. 87,300. This includes Rs. The medical fee was Rs 83,700 and the special scan recommended by the doctor was Rs 3,600. In addition, he will also receive compensation of Rs. 50,000 compensation for mental and physical pain caused by treatment. Furthermore, Rs. Litigation fees of 20,000 yuan were awarded. Payment must be made within two months; otherwise, 9% interest will be charged from the date of the decision (February 5, 2015). Exact totals may vary based on specific dates and circumstances. Finally, Yatish got justice and was compensated by Dr. Bimal Chhajer.
