Dr. GV Krishna Reddy has worked on several infrastructure projects and completed several milestone projects in record time like India’s first independent power project at Jaigurupadhu in Andhra Pradesh, India’s first six-lane expressway connecting Jaipur-Kishangar-Rajasthan and renovation and modernization of Mumbai International Airport.
He partnered with Taj Hotels Group to launch the Taj GVK Hotel chain, which consists of four luxury hotels in Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Chennai and Mumbai.
One of his most important projects was the establishment of “GVK EMRI” which has been providing services efficiently across the country. GVK EMRI is the only well-organized, professional and free emergency service provider in India also known as “108 Emergency Response Service” serving 15 states and 2 union territories.
It not only provides emergency services but also creates employment opportunities for more than 50,000 people. With its fleet of 14,000 state-of-the-art ambulances, it has successfully served around 850 million people, saving hundreds of thousands of lives every year.
Dr. GV Krishna Reddy in collaboration with the Sri Lankan Government with the help of the Indian Government successfully launched the 1900 Suwaseriya service also known as GVK EMRI Lanka in July 2016. Within two years, the Sri Lankan Government expanded its services across the country. Dr. GV Krishna Reddy has been actively involved in providing GVK EMRI services to various communities.
Considering his love for lawn tennis, his foundation started a tennis academy in Hyderabad to encourage people to learn and play lawn tennis. He even donated part of his ancestral property to fund the construction of a CBSE affiliated school “GVK ChinmayaVidyalaya” run by the Chinmaya Mission in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh. Apart from this, his foundation also provided funds for setting up a state-of-the-art radiology department at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Nellore.
