Burger King Extends $5 Value Meal Until October After Other Chains Debut Their Own Meal Deals

Summer may be over, but Burger King’s sales are still on.

The fast food joint announced that their $5 meal will be available their way through October during an earnings call on Thursday, August 8th.

For $5, BK customers can win Whopper Jr., Chicken Jr. or cheeseburger with bacon; with the sandwich they get 4 chicken nuggets, fries and a soft drink.

The discounted food package was introduced on June 10 and, like other “value propositions,” is “profitable,” according to Restaurant Brands International CEO Josh Kobza.

Your $5 meal plan includes your choice of nuggets, fries, juice and sandwiches.

“We’re going to extend that $5 meal your way now in October because we think it works perfectly for the business and we think customers love it,” Kobza said.

Along with chains like McDonald’s, Taco Bell and Wendy’s, Jimmy John’s has also joined the meal deal craze.

Starting Aug. 5, the substore has a $10 Total Meal Package, a discounted food package that should be “as hearty as your appetite,” according to a press release.

The deal includes a choice of an 8-inch sandwich from seven options plus a bag of chips, a dessert – such as a chocolate chip cookie or brownie – and a standard-sized drink.
