Duniya Vijay made her acting debut in the 2004 Kannada film Ranga SSLC in which she played a small role.

Later, he appeared in films like “Jogi” (2004) and “Shree” (2006). The turning point in his career was the film “Duniya” (2007), in which he played the lead role of “Shivlingu aka Shivu”.

He has done blockbusters like Yuga (2007), Chanda (2007) and Geleya (2007), Avva (2008), Bheema Theeradalli (2012), Simhadri (2014), Jackson (2015), Dana Kayonu (2016) and Masti Gudi (2018) and Salaga (2019). In 2013, he founded his own production company “Duniya Talkies”.

In 2007, he appeared in the movies “Chanda” and “Yuga”. ‘Chanda’ director S Narayan has agreed to release ‘Chanda’ after the release of ‘Yuga’. However, Narayan did not keep his promise and released Chanda. Thereafter, Vijay refused to dub for his films. The matter was resolved by the KFCC (Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce) and a one-year ban was imposed on the actor. The ban on him was lifted after the Karnataka Film Federation intervened.

In 2013, Vijay filed for divorce from his wife Nagaratna, claiming that she had misbehaved with his mother. In this regard, Nagarathna alleged that Vijay was having an extramarital affair with actress Shubha Punja. Caught in the middle of the controversy, Shouba said she knew nothing and her name was dragged unnecessarily.

In 2016, two actors, Raghav Uday and Anil Verma, drowned in a reservoir while shooting for action scenes in the film Maasthi Gudi. A case was registered against the film’s producers, including producer Sundar P Gowda, who failed to appear in court during the case and was absconding. Vijay was arrested for helping the accused escape; as Gowda was staying at his house.

In September 2018, Vijay was arrested for allegedly assaulting and kidnapping fitness trainer Maruti Gowda, nephew of Pani Puri Kitty. Dunya had previously filed a complaint against Gouda for threatening his son.

In October 2018, Monika, Vijay’s daughter from his first marriage, filed a lawsuit against Vijay, his second wife Keerthi, driver Mohammad, Hemanth and Vinod; accusing them of abusing and beating her. According to reports, five people attacked Monica when she went to her father’s house with her mother to get something. She also claimed they banged her head against a wall and threatened her.

In October 2018, Nagarathna assaulted Vijay’s second wife Keerthi at home. After Nagarathna assaulted her, she went to lodge a false complaint; accusing Vijay of assaulting her. The police discovered through the CCTV footage of Vijay’s house that it was Kirti who was attacked and subsequently arrested Nagaratna. However, by the time the police reached her house, Nagarathna had run away.
