Dwayne Johnson Has Been Invited to Do Hot Ones Multiple Times but Has Turned It Down for 1 Specific Reason

Dwayne Johnson isn’t ready to feel the heat Hot one just more.

Sean Evans, who hosts a popular YouTube talk show, recently spoke with Bloomberg about Hot one and how he has been trying to get the actor (52) for the series for years.

Although he told the outlet he once came close to sealing a deal for Johnson to appear on the program – in which celebrity guests answer questions while eating chicken wings with a variety of hot sauces – Evans, 38, revealed the father-of-three had a very specific request related to performance.

“We threw ourselves [The Rock] apparently for years and once I got a message back that said, ‘Would you be willing to make grilled salmon strips instead of wings?’ And I thought that had to come out of his mouth,” Evans said.

“It’s as close as we’ve been,” he added. – And then it failed.

Hot onewhich describes itself as “a show with hot questions and even hotter wings”, featured a host of A-listers including Lorde, Paul Rudd, DJ Khaled, Tyra Banks and Ariana Grande.

In 2020, Evans revealed to PEOPLE who his dream guest would be: Howard Stern. The radio host, 70, was Evans’ idol while studying broadcast journalism at the University of Illinois.

“Will Howard be fried on chicken wings for an internet party? Knowing what I know about him, as a gambler, I don’t know if there’s any money there,” Evans said at the time, adding: “But you never know.”

As for what he eats in his daily life, the presenter stated that wings are no longer his main meal, considering that he often eats them for work.

“When I’m off work, I just drink juice and eat cereal and salads and stuff,” he told PEOPLE. “If I don’t have time, I won’t eat wings.”
