Eamonn Holmes has claimed that Holly Willoughby is “taking advantage of” her This Morning co-star Alison Hammond in a new interview with GB News.
The 63-year-old spoke to Dan Wootton about Phillip Schofield’s recent departure from the ITV show.
The Northern Ireland journalist said Holly and Alison’s friendship was “nonsense” and “wouldn’t have happened two years ago”. See what he has to say in the video below.

“The other nonsense going on is that Holly Willoughby now has Alison Hammond as her best friend and it’s Alison’s birthday and Alison goes to select Holly nights with her friends,” he said.
“This wouldn’t have happened two years ago. Are you kidding? Alison Hammond has been on that show for 13 years and I’m sure there’s been very little contact between her and the host. But then everyone things have changed, people just use different people. It’s disgusting and bearable.”

Alison and Holly don’t hide their friendship off-screen. Back in August of last year, Holly shared a touching tribute to her ex Oldest brother star after being nominated for a National Television Award. Holly wrote: “There’s only one @alisonhammond55…keep it up honey! This year is your year…congratulations…love you!!! #NTA.”

Alison has made it clear that she loves being around Holly’s girl group, which includes Christine Lampard and Emma Bunton. Commenting on a selfie of Holly’s group of friends posted on Instagram in January, Alison wrote: “I want to be in this group.”
Holly quickly replied, writing: “Anytime darling,” along with a string of heart emojis.

Last Friday, Phillip Schofield admitted to having an affair with a younger colleague This morning and now he has left ITV and is abandoned by talent agency YMU.

Phillip said he was “deeply sorry” for lying about his relationship with ITV, colleagues, friends and agents.
“That relationship was unwise, but not illegal. It’s over now,” he said.

On Monday, Phillip hit back at critics and stated that there was “no toxicity” in the series. “I hope you notice that there are a handful of people who are upset with me or the show and seem to have the loudest voices,” he said.
The comments are given after the former This morning Dr Ranj Singh said the show had a “toxic” culture and he was “fired” after raising concerns about bullying and discrimination two years ago.

Elsewhere in Eamonn’s interview with Dan Wootton, the broadcaster claimed there was a “complete cover-up” of Phillip’s affair on This morning.
“It was a complete cover-up,” he said.
“The people in power must have known what was going on and thought they would dodge a bullet with this thing, that’s what they do and do all the time.”

Addressing Phillip’s latest comments denying any “toxicity” of the show, Eammon said: “I think Phillip is absolutely right about toxicity.
“But my friend, the poison is not in me, Dan Wootton or anyone else, the poison is in you.”
