Golden TV couple Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford have split and are set to divorce, The Sun on Sunday can reveal.
A spokesperson for Ruth and Eamonn said in a statement to The Sun on Sunday: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed that their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”

The much-loved hosting duo are negotiating a divorce in news that will devastate their millions of fans.
Friends said the couple had drifted apart in recent months.
Their work commitments “took them in different directions,” the sources said.
But the pair were determined to remain friends and “keep things amicable”.
They got married in 2010.
But in a sign of their determination to keep things calm, she helped nurse him back to health after a medical scare that saw him spend some time in hospital.
The pair have not been seen together for over two years, appearing side by side in a social media skit on Instagram for a long time.
A few days ago, the 64-year-old Loose Women welcomed fans saying: “I look at Eamonn, who has had health problems and back problems, and you realize how important your health is.
“I don’t know how much Eamonn’s mobility will improve. We live in hope. He’s doing physiotherapy, but maybe he needs to accept that it might never be 100 percent accurate.”
Ruth, who presented ITV1’s This Morning with her husband for 15 years, told how Eamonn endured back surgery that went wrong, leaving him confined to a wheelchair. At one point he fell and broke his shoulder.

Without hinting at the cracks in their relationship, she continued: “It’s a test, but we’re managing as a family.”
In a further touching sign of their plans to remain close, earlier this month Eamonn, 64, re-posted a snap of him and Ruth in happier times on Instagram.
The photographer previously shared a picture of the pair, calling them ‘the best in the business’.
The couple first met in 1997 when they were introduced by mutual friends and dated for more than a decade before Eamonn popped the question.

In 2002, she gave birth to their son, Jack Alexander Holmes. They married at Elvetham Hall in Hampshire in 2010 and sold the rights to glossy magazine Hello.
They won millions of fans by co-presenting ITV’s This Morning between 2006 and 2021. Most recently, he stars on the breakfast show on GB News.
Their natural on-screen chemistry has proved a constant hit with viewers on various shows – even though Eamonn is.
In 2021, he told The Sun: “When you work together and live together, there are no breaks.
“Other TV presenters have minor disagreements on set and then jump into their cars and go home. It can last all day with us!”

The couple announced their intention to divorce through a spokesperson in a brief statement to The Sun on Sunday: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed that their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”
“You can be sure that whatever I say – almost everything – Ruth will say or think the opposite, and then we end up fighting on screen.
“It seems to be working for those watching at home. For now she’s enjoying doing Loose Women and I’m excited about my new project.”
But some fans began to speculate about the pair’s relationship earlier this year after he revealed he had “a lot to think about”. He added a black and white picture of himself in thought.
Eamonn’s repost was the first time he has shared a picture of himself with Loose Women presenter Ruth in weeks.

The pair have not been seen together for several months, which has kept viewers guessing. Fans questioned where Ruth was in one of Eamonn’s family photos.
Television proudly shared a picture of his son Declan, daughter-in-law Jenny and their two daughters Emilia and Isabella from the baptism of the latter.
The post prompted some followers to wonder if Ruth had joined him at the family event. “Where is your wife Eamonn Holmes?” asked one.
It turned out that she spent the day enjoying an Easter egg hunt in the park, after which she went to a pub lunch with friends.
It was only a few days ago that Ruth publicly commented on Eamonn’s health, saying her husband would never be “100 per cent right”.

For many years, Eamonn and Ruth were the mum and dad of morning television, smiling into the living rooms of millions of people, like real family members.
After sitting with them on the This Morning couch and witnessing their warm banter and intimate, happy banter, it was clear to see the connection, love and respect they had together and it made for magical television.
Therefore, it will come as a sad shock to many that the popular couple has split up and quietly planned a divorce behind the scenes.
It’s been a tumultuous few years since I discovered, back in 2020, that ITV had axed them from This Morning, ending their reign as on-screen husband and wife, with Eamonn struggling with his health and mobility.
I’m sure their fans will shower them with support as they navigate these difficult next steps and move on with their separate lives.
In an interview with The Sun in 2020, Ruth revealed what she thought was the secret to a happy marriage.
She said: “I don’t have a secret to a happy marriage. If I did, I’d write a book and make a fortune! I definitely feel that Eamonn and I had chemistry from the moment we met – and we still do.
“Even when he’s annoying me or when we’ve been really grumpy, he’ll say something to make me laugh. There are times when I don’t like him, but I love him. I’d like to think he feels the same way.”

Eamonn is also facing a tax battle with HMRC and has been “forced” to give up a home in his home town of Belfast.
HMRC first launched its investigations in 2018, and a court ruled two years later that Eamonn was employed by ITV while presenting This Morning – and was not working as a freelancer.
In response, the GB New boss launched two appeals against the taxman, costing him “hundreds of thousands of pounds” in legal fees.
The last time the television golden couple was seen together
One of the clearest signs that Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford are headed for divorce is that neither of them have posted to each other’s social media or appeared at events together in over two years.
Their last social media post where they were seen together was in July 2022, when Ruth and Eamonn performed a skit to promote her Feeling Fabulous event.
Ruth is seen creating a checklist of everything she needs ahead of the event, before Eamonn pops up and asks: “Do you think you’re forgetting something? Or someone? Like me?”
“You want to come?” she asks before adding, “I haven’t really thought about it.”
“I think he will want to see me more than that Anton [Du Beke] and Rylan [Clark]”, he answers.
Although this is the last time they were seen on camera together, in September 2023 they were still together, and Eamonn filmed Ruth making a face and asking her “What are you doing?”
Ruth, who was under the weather, wrote alongside the clip: “So 3rd day of antibiotics and doctor told me to copulate twice a day… I’m trying to take it easy but @eamonnholmes decided to watch this morning and offer useful tips!”
