EAMONN Holmes has made his first public comment since the news broke that he has split from wife Ruth Langsford.
The TV presenter made the announcement on Instagram tonight after The Sun revealed on Sunday that the couple were planning to divorce.

The couple was married for 14 years
He shared a sketch of what looked like him with Sir Alex Ferguson, after today’s FA Cup final.
The caption read: “My God, what a cup final, what a result! #MUFC European football and next season.
“The magic of the cup. Congratulations to the whole team.”
Immediately, comments started pouring in asking Eamonn about today’s bombshell news.

One person wrote: “Aw, poor Ruth, what have you done?”
But someone else said sympathetically: “They may be in the public eye, but their troubles are their own. Very sad for them.”
In less than twenty minutes, thousands of people saw the post – the first public comment to come from the two.
A spokesperson for Ruth and Eamonn said in a statement to The Sun on Sunday: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed that their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”
The much-loved hosting duo are negotiating a divorce in news that will devastate their millions of fans.
Friends said the couple had drifted apart in recent months.
Their work commitments “took them in different directions,” the sources said.
But the couple were determined to remain friends and “keep things amicable” after being married for 14 years.
Ruth recently helped nurse her husband back to good health after a medical scare that left him in the hospital for some time.
Although the couple has not been seen together in over two years, they have long appeared alongside each other in a social media skit on Instagram.
A few days ago, the 64-year-old Loose Women welcomed fans saying: “I look at Eamonn, who has had health problems and back problems, and you realize how important your health is.
“I don’t know how much Eamonn’s mobility will improve. We live in hope. He’s doing physiotherapy, but maybe he needs to accept that it might never be 100 percent accurate.”
Ruth, who has presented ITV1’s This Morning with her husband for 15 years, said Eamonn suffered back surgery which went wrong, leaving him confined to a wheelchair.
At one point he fell and broke his shoulder.
Without hinting at the cracks in their relationship, she continued: “It’s a test, but we’re managing as a family.”
The couple first met in 1997 when they were introduced by mutual friends and dated for more than a decade before Eamonn popped the question.
In 2002, she gave birth to their son, Jack Alexander Holmes. They married at Elvetham Hall in Hampshire in 2010 and sold the rights to glossy magazine Hello.
They won millions of fans by co-presenting ITV’s This Morning between 2006 and 2021.
Eamonn recently starred in a breakfast show on GB News.
Their natural on-screen chemistry has proved a constant hit with viewers on various shows – even though Eamonn is.
In 2021, he told The Sun: “When you work together and live together, there are no breaks.
“Other TV presenters have minor disagreements on set and then jump into their cars and go home. It can last all day with us!”

Although both are active on their Instagram accounts, they rarely post about each other.
Ruth’s latest broadcasts focus on her return to ITV daytime show Loose Women and her QVC clothing line.
Although he posts tons of photos and videos of his mom, Eamonn is usually nowhere to be found.
In July 2022, he appeared in a video posted on her page to promote her Feeling Fabulous event.
Meanwhile, Eamonn’s Instagram feed tells a similar story.
It’s full of family photos as well as glimpses of life in a TV newsroom, but Ruth – whom he affectionately calls Ruthie – rarely appears.
A PICTURE WITH A NEW WIFE
Eamonn’s recent picture with Linda Lusardi also caused concern among fans.
The 64-year-old shared a snap with the actress and TV presenter – showing fans footage of their friendship spanning more than three decades.
In the caption he wrote: “1982 vs 2024 and she hasn’t changed at all. My wonderful, close friend Linda Lusardi whom I went to see today 42 years of friendship x”
One fan was quick to ask, “Where was poor Ruth?”
Another then added, “Where is your beautiful wife Ruth!
“Why or what are you trying to prove!”

Ruth seemed to hint at trouble with Eamonn’s many health problems of late.
She was forced to clarify a comment about getting “fed up” with her husband amid his struggles – which have left him in a wheelchair and on crutches.
It came after Eamonn’s remarks on his GB News breakfast show.
He said: “I think my family is a bit fed up with me now.
“The kids are a bit uncomfortable with how I move or don’t move, and Ruth is a bit fed up with me.”
Ruth took the opportunity to clarify the comments on the ITV daytime show Loose Women, which she often hosts.
She said, “I thought, well, I am and I’m not. You know what I mean? It’s human.
“You can’t help it, but when you’re helping someone all the time and they’re very incompetent, it’s hard to be Florence Nightingale all the time.”
