In the stunning scene Sharon, played by actress Letitia Dean in the BBC soap opera – she saw the vision of her mom Angie, who begged her to start to help.
“Use that voice and start screaming for help,” she said. “That’s it honey, you start screaming for help. That’s my girlfriend.”
Eastenders chief Chris Clenshaw said: “Angie Watts is undoubtedly one of the most pronounced and iconic bosses of Eastenders.
“From the first episode, Anita immediately created a character that the audience adored and not only did Eastenders not only design on the show as she is today, but also had a huge impact on British television.
“Anita, of course, was at the top of our end list when we talked about what we would like to involve in our special anniversary, so it was the best birthday gift we could ever receive when she said yes.
“Watching Angie Watts is still resting Queen Victoria Hall, 40 years until the day she first appeared at Walford, the day is that we will never forget while we all celebrate this show that played such an important role on British television. Happy birthday Eastenders. “
Actress Anita revealed that she only told her husband Brian Maya about her return.
“Obviously I told Brian, but I honestly didn’t tell anyone!” she said.
“It was really hard because I was so many people that I really said, ‘Oh, are you going back? “Since I got back to the documentary, so it was so hard not to say anything.
“But, I was a really good girl and held my little mouth closed because I didn’t want there to be spoilers! [Laughs]”

“It was absolutely beautiful. That is what it collected to me. When they initially wondered if I would come back when I was making a documentary, at first I didn’t really think about the whole picture, and then when they said that Letitia said it would I loved to do it with her, I thought, “Oh, God, I can’t say not to see my baby.”
“It was very emotional. Incredibly emotional in a nice, happy way. Again it was noisy again.
“We didn’t really think about it or talked about it, or even rehearsed it because we did it. It was nice. She’s a wonderful human being and a beautiful little actress.”
