Ed Sheeran and Chris Hemsworth Pose with Thor’s Hammer Mjölnir in the Singer’s 2023 Recap — See the Photo!

Only a few have proven themselves worthy of lifting Thor’s hammer — and Ed Sheeran is one of them!

The 32-year-old singer-songwriter kicked off his 2023 recap post by going back to a fun moment where he traded instruments with the God of Thunder himself, Chris Hemsworth.

In the photo, Sheeran and the Marvel star, 40, hold Thor’s hammer Mjölnir while staring icily into the camera.

“2023 dump”, the singer captioned his post. “See you in 2024. May it be good, yes, beautiful, I love you.”

The crossover originally happened in February, when Sheeran gifted Hemsworth a guitar in exchange for the on-screen superhero’s hammer.

The actor documented the exchange at the time with a video he cheekily captioned, “Just an instrumental trade between two guys.”

“Ed Sheeran, I’m going to make this guitar sing like no other, and you swing that hammer with all your heart,” Hemsworth added. “I love you bro!”

In the video, Sheeran explained that he was “really into trading tools of the trade for tools of the trade” and revealed that Hemsworth was his next target.

The “Perfect” musician then gave Hemsworth one of his acoustic stage guitars, and in return the actor gave him a big, shiny weapon – while the text “WORTHY” appeared over Sheeran’s face.

Both men also signed each other’s “tools.”

Sheeran also joked, “I think we should switch professions,” to which Hemsworth seemingly agreed, playfully tearing apart his new instrument.

Hemsworth previously talked about where his Mjölnir lives in his home during an interview with 2022. Extra.

“It kind of varies by location, from the toy box to the mantle,” he joked. “There she quickly strips and ends up in the bathroom.”

The Australian actor appeared as the God of Thunder in eight films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe spanning more than a decade, beginning in 2011. Thor.

He recently appeared as a hammer-wielding hero in 2022 Thor: Love and Thunder.

Talking to vanity fair last November, the actor said he was “totally open to” revisiting the popular superhero “if there’s something unique, fresh and unexpected to do with the character and the world.”

“I’ve always loved the experience,” he added of his time as the on-screen hero. “I was very grateful to be able to do something different each time.”
