Ed Sheeran came to play with The Offspring.
The Grammy winner, 33, joined the punk rock band during their set at the BottleRock Napa Valley festival in California on May 26 to perform “Million Miles Away” and said the moment “really felt like living a childhood dream” in a kind post on Instagram.
In a video shared on the social media platform, Sheeran shows off his tattoo of The Offspring’s signature flaming skull logo to members Dexter Holland, Noodles, Todd Morse, Jonah Nimoy and Brandon Pertzborn while they’re backstage before the show.

They discussed how to perform a live performance of “Million Miles Away” before taking the stage to play the 2001 hit, with the “Thinking Out Loud” musician singing and playing guitar. Alongside the clip, Sheeran wrote a heartfelt caption about his admiration for the band.
“The first album I bought was @offspring – The conspiracy of one” Sheeran revealed. “I pretended I was in their band in the mirror and sang along to the album when I was 9, mostly their song ‘Million Miles Away’ because it was the first song I ever heard.”

“I mentioned it in the interview and Noodles / Dexter contacted me when we found out we were all playing the same festival, to see if I wanted to get on stage and sing it,” he added. “It was a moment to oblige.”
“I really felt like I was living a childhood dream,” Sheeran continued. “Thank you for inviting me up there. Music is a wild ride, every day I’m so grateful to be living my dream in reality.”

The Offspring seem to be having fun welcoming guest musicians on stage lately. Earlier this month, the band was joined by Brian May to perform “Gone Away” as well as Queen’s “Stone Cold Crazy” during a show in Slovakia.
The group “Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)” will continue to tour throughout the year, with concerts in North America, Europe and South Africa.
Meanwhile, Sheeran is on tour in Europe until September.
