Eddie Redmayne has a job to finish.
In a PEOPLE exclusive clip from the two-episode Season 1 finale of Peacock’s hit series Day of the JackalRedmayne, who plays the titular hitman, has more lives riding on him than his targets — and he’s willing to put everything on the line to maintain his perfect record.
The Jackal — or Charles, as his wife Nuria (Úrsula Corberó) calls him — is back home in Cádiz and has some explaining to do.
Lashana Lynch is pregnant, expecting her first child with husband Zackary Momoh — watch her red carpet debut!
“Did you think you could live two parallel lives?” – Nuria asks him.
“Honestly, I never thought about it,” he admits. “I’ll stop. It’s over. It’s over. It’s over. It’s over.”
But Nuria doesn’t really believe his words because she knows that “but” is coming.

“There’s another job I have to finish,” the Jackal admits.
“I fucking knew it,” Nuria says in Spanish at her husband’s confession.
He insists that he only needs “24 hours” for this latest job – which is to successfully take down UGC (Khalid Abdalla) after a failed attempt in Tallinn, Estonia – and Nuria leaves, claiming she needs “coffee”, when in fact, she does that she must get as far away from her husband as possible.

Heading into the series’ two-episode finale — a fresh take on the character first introduced in Frederick Forsyth’s 1971 novel of the same name — the stakes are higher than ever for the Jackal, as he must prove his worth to his latest client who hired him to solve UGC before the entrepreneur successfully launched River, a worldwide economic settlement platform.
MI-6 agent Bianca (Lashana Lynch) is still hot on his heels, and Nuria, her mother and brother have learned more than he ever wanted about his work, putting his entire family – and his young son Carlito – in danger.
