Nikki was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 1, 1984 to Edward J. Glaser and Julie E. Glaser. She spent her first years in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Kirkwood High School and went on to study at the University of Colorado Boulder before transferring to the University of Kansas, where she earned a BA in English Literature. Her friends encouraged her to participate in the college Talent Show. She called him on the phone as soon as she finished the performance, they were both sobbing, and she decided at that moment that this was what she wanted to do in life.
