Elden Ring: All Whetblade Locations (& How to Use Them)

Elden’s ring Offering a lot of flexibility in weapon swapping, players can use different types of Whetblades found throughout the Middle Lands to change the affinity of their weapons. Relationships change the scale of the weapon, and some provide additional damage types, such as fire, cold, or poison. While each Ash of War offers a relationship, Elden’s ring Whetblades allow the player to change the size and damage of the weapon without losing the ability of the Ash of War.

Apply different relationships to weapons Elden’s ringThe player must first be inside Elden’s ring By taking a whetstone. The Whetstone Knife is located south of the Ruins in front of the gate, at the bottom of a set of stairs on the side of the main road leading into the ruins. However, until the player finds additional sharpening blades, they will only be able to use the Grindstone Knife to apply either the default affinity of War Ashes or the standard affinity, which will not affect the rate or damage the weapon.

How Whetblades Upgrade Whetstone Knife

Once the player is inside Elden’s ring, the relationship it can provide will become available when the player replaces Ashes of War in the Gracelands. There are a total of five Whetblades to locate:

sharpen	unlock relationship
iron knife	heavy, pointed, mass
grinding spar	magic and cold
fiery sharpening	fire and flame art
black grinding blade	Poison, blood and the occult
holy grinding	lightning and holy

Using these special tools, players can tweak almost any weapon to aid them. Elden’s ring Character build, though some special weapons in the game have unique skills and can’t be changed with war ashes or sharp blades.

Iron knife position

Iron Whetblade can be used to add Heavy, Keen or Quality affinity to weapons Elden’s ring. Heavy Affinity increases the weapon’s Strength scale and reduces all others, while Sharp Affinity increases the weapon’s Agility and reduces its Strength and base damage. Mass Affinity balances strength and agility, giving a small boost to both but reducing the weapon’s base damage.

Iron Whetblade can be found in Stormveil Castle near the Rampart Tower Site of Grace. Taking the elevator down from the tower, the player will find a small courtyard on the left side of the room, guarded by a Elden’s ring hybrid offspring. The door to the left has an armory with a corpse sitting cross-legged in front of the fireplace, which the player can loot the Iron Whetblade. However, players will need the Stone Sword Key to dispel the fog blocking the entrance to the Armory.

Location of Glintstone Whetblade

The Glintstone Whetstone Blade allows players to add magic or cold affinity to their weapons. Although both affinities increase Elden’s ring Extending weapon intelligence, Magic Affinity increases magic damage, and Cold Affinity increases the weapon’s Frostbite accumulation. However, Cold Affinity reduces all other levels, while Magic Affinity only reduces Strength, Agility, and base damage.

Glintston Whetblade at Elden’s ring Can be found on a corpse in the Raya Lucaria Academy office, near the Debate Hall of Grace. Just outside the Debate Hall, a dilapidated staircase led to a group of noble magicians who used magic kneeling in front of their offices with sharp knives. The body was lying on the balcony, just to the right of the office door.

Blazing Whetblade Location

As the name suggests, Elden’s ring Fiery Whetblade can be used to add fire and fire arts affinity to weapons. While these relationships are relatively similar, the relationship with fire increases the fire damage of the weapon while reducing all other ratios. In contrast, Fire Arts Affinity provides less fire damage but increases Faith Rating.

The Red-Hot Whetblade can be found on a corpse inside Redmane Castle before or after the Radahn Festival portion of the Ranni quest. From the room outside Grace Square, the player can run through the flamethrowers on the left to find a direct path to the room containing the sharpening blade. However, if the player is exploring the Redmade Castle during the festival quest, the door of that room will remain closed until the end of the quest.

Black Whetblade Location

black grinding blade is Elden’s ring Get it, as it’s in a hard-to-reach preferences area, but it unlocks Poison, Health, and Mystic Attributes in the Ashes of War menu. Mystic and Health Attributes increase Arcane Levels at the expense of all others, but Health Attributes also provide additional Bleed cumulative damage. Toxic Relationships add Poison damage to weapons in the Elden Ring, and increase the weapon’s Strength, Dexterity, and Mystery ratings.

Often (but not exactly) called bloodstone Elden’s ringIf the player wants to create a bleeding version, the black sharpening blade is probably one of the most useful and powerful items in the game!

Elden’s ring The Black Whetblade was found on a corpse in front of the altar in the Night Temple of Norkron, the Eternal City. To reach this area, the player must cross the roofs and ledges of the city. The player can jump from the stairs with the large dilapidated statue near the Ancestral Woods Site of Grace to the dome-shaped roof below to reach a large balcony where the enemies of Silver Tears await.

Just behind this balcony, there is a collapsed dome that leads directly into the room containing the blackened stone. When entering the room, the altar is on the left.

Location of Holy Whetblade

Holy Whetblade in Elden’s ring Can be used to add Lightning or Holy Affinity to weapons, useful skills until Elden’s ring The final boss dashes. Holy Affinity increases trust level and increases divine damage at the cost of some base weapon physical damage. For example, Lightning Affinity scales up agility and increases lightning damage, but it reduces the weapon’s power and base damage.

The sacred honing place is located in the royal capital Liondale, possibly one of the most dangerous areas in the kingdom Elden’s ring. Fortified Manor – There is an outdoor area between the first floor ruins of Grace and the ruins of West Capital Fort Grace where a large tree falls towards the building. To the right of the tree, the player can climb up a wooden platform, go through the collapsed balcony and enter the manor through the door. Elden’s ring The sacred grinding stone is located in the next room on a short flight of stairs.
