Elderly man, 75, dies as three teenage girls arrested over fatal ‘assault’ outside bank in high street – The Sun

Three teenagers were arrested after an older man died in a “attack” near the bank, police said.

The victim, 75, was taken to a hospital in a critical condition after suffering injuries at Islington in London on Thursday at about 11.35pm.

But the older man today tragically died at the hospital, police said.

The victim is thought to have been a Bolivian citizen and that his next relatives were informed.

Officers arrested three teenage girls – 14, 16 and 17 – on suspicion of GBH before a man’s death.

But the force said this is “inspected now” and the trio remains in custody.

Investigations are still ongoing.

A police spokesman said: “The police attended the London Emergency Room for London’s London.

“The 75-year-old man was taken to a hospital where, very unfortunately, he died on Friday, February 28.

“The man’s family was informed.

“The victim of Bolivian is considered to be a national – formal identification and will be arranged after the mortem in due course.

“Three teenagers – girls aged 14, 16 and 17 – were arrested on suspicion of GBH before the death of man.

“This is now reviewed.

“They remain in custody and the investigations of circumstances last.”

DCI Paul Waller, a specialist crime, is being investigated by murder.

He said: “Three people are in custody, and experts from all over MET work in Pace from last night to determine exactly what happened.

“Every possible test line is followed, and this includes forensic work and permanent inquiries to identify all available CCTV.

“I am grateful to those members of the public who have already contacted the police.

“I invite everyone who saw the incident, but one has yet to contact the police to contact and share what they know.”
