Emily Blunt is ready to The devil wears Prada continuation — and fashion!
Speaking with PEOPLE on the red carpet at the Stuttering Institute of America Gala on Monday, Sept. 16, the 41-year-old actress dished on what she’s most excited about for the sequel to the 2006 cult classic comedy.
“It’s cool,” a smiling Blunt tells PEOPLE of returning to the franchise, adding that she’s not entirely at liberty to discuss the specifics of the project.

“Oh my God, I can’t tell you anything.”
However, the star might shed some light on what he is looking forward to in the upcoming film.

“I just want to do my eyes well again,” Blunt tells PEOPLE, joking that she might get another bout of the stomach flu. “I hope so.”
While at the American Stuttering Institute’s 18th Annual Gala, Blunt explains to PEOPLE why the event is near and dear to her heart.
“I’m so invested,” she says. “I struggled with stuttering for most of my childhood, I have endless, endless empathy for people who go through that, and that kind of struggle, and I still feel like there’s not enough awareness about stuttering.”

IN The devil wears PradaBlunt played Emily Charlton, first assistant to a tyrannical editor, Miranda Priestly (played by Meryl Streep), on the prestigious (and fictional) Runway magazine.
Emily’s burden is lightened when Andrea “Andy” Sachs (played by Anne Hathaway) joins as an assistant – then her position is almost non-existent when she becomes ill with the stomach flu and forgets important details about guests at a black-tie event.
In July it was announced that The The devil wears Prada will get a sequel produced by Wendy Finerman and written by Aline Brosh McKenna, po Puck News.

The film, based on the book of the same name by Lauren Weisberger, earned $326 million at the worldwide box office. Streep (75) earned her 14th Oscar nomination for her role.

There aren’t many details available about the sequel, but according to Puckfans could see Priestly still in the running Runway magazine as it tries to navigate the ever-evolving digital landscape.
Entertainment Weekly added that Hathaway (41), Blunt, Streep and Stanley Tucci have reportedly discussed reprising their characters.
The original cast members have reunited over the years, such as when the leading ladies gathered on stage at the SAG Awards in February 2024 to announce the winner of Best Actor in a Comedy Series.

In September 2023, Hathaway and Streep were photographed together at the Clooney Foundation’s second annual Albie Awards.
As for Blunt, she credited the film with a noticeable wardrobe upgrade.
“There was no way I knew enough about the fashion industry going into that movie,” she said Diversity in November 2023 while playing a game that tested her memory of her former film scripts.
“I think I was just dressing like a teenager until it happened, and I learned a lot,” Blunt joked.
