Emily in Paris' Lucas Bravo Reveals Why One Season 4 Moment Left Him with a 'Sense of Relief' (Exclusive)

Warning: This story contains spoilers from Emily in Paris season 4, episode 1.

Lucas Bravo can’t help but be unhappy that the key story in the first part Emily in Paris 4 seasons are behind him!

In an exclusive chat with PEOPLE about the new season, Bravo, who plays aspiring Michelin chef Gabriel, says he was “relieved” to read that his character’s ex-fiancee, Camile (Camile Razat), won’t be having his child after all.

“I felt like that pregnancy, it was the promise of more chaos or more drama and a new obstacle, which is sad because a baby should never be,” she explains, sharing that the way the pregnancy was “conceived” implied that ” closed the door on many things.”

“Because Gabriel is in love with Emily (Lily Collins) from the moment he opens that door, I felt like that pregnancy was standing in the way of that,” Bravo continues. “Yes, I was relieved, but it wasn’t to be.”

In Season 4, Episode 5, viewers saw Camile reveal that she was never pregnant after visiting her gynecologist’s office. While struggling with the news, she met a friend in a cafe to confide in her. Camile explained that she was afraid to share the developments with Gabriel because the baby kept them in each other’s lives.

Emily in Paris Season 4 Review: Funniest twists yet and we love it

Bravo tells PEOPLE that he thinks the final installment will be “a very mature season for Gabriel.”

“I feel that the promise of a child gives him enough energy to start being a little more proactive and chase after his dream and the woman he loves,” he adds.

In a video announcing the fourth season last June, Collins teased that the new installment is coming with “more fun, more fashion and, of course, more drama.” “It can be said that we ended the last season dramatically. And surprise, it doesn’t end there!” she said in the teaser.

“So much has happened that we just need answers. Is Alfie still heartbroken? Will Gabriel get his Michelin star? Will Mindy and the band go to Eurovision? And what about Camille? Will Sylvie’s rekindled love last? And the question on all of our minds: Will Emily and Gabriel finally get together?”

Teasing more about what’s to come, Collins said Emily’s life will also take “some unexpected turns”, which will include a Roman holiday and an ultimatum. “Emily will have to decide if what she’s ever wanted is really what she needs,” she added.
