Eminem's 3 Kids: All About Hailie, Alaina and Stevie

Eminem may be known for his tough exterior, but he’s a big softie when it comes to his kids.

The rapper and his ex-wife Kim Scott have three children: Hailie Jade Scott, Alaina Scott and Stevie Laine Scott.

“Being a dad definitely means living a double life,” said Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers Rolling Stone 2004 “Even before Hailie was born, I was a firm believer in free speech … But once I knock on the door of where I live, that’s when I’m a dad.”

He continued: “I take the children to school, collect them, teach them the rules. I’m not saying I’m a perfect father, but the most important thing is to be with my children and raise them in the right way.”

Eminem even credits his kids for helping him get sober. While in rehab because of his fame he “couldn’t concentrate” on his pill addiction, he found motivation on his own with the help of his family.

“I love them so much and they’ve helped me through so many things,” he said New York Times Magazine in 2010.

Hailie Jade Scott, 28

Hailie Jade Scott was born on December 25, 1995 in Detroit, Michigan.

She is mentioned in several of Dad’s songs, including “Hailie’s Song” and “Temporary.” The latter was written to comfort Hailie in the event of Eminem’s death.

“Yeah, well Hailie Jade, I wrote you this song / To help you deal with life now that I’m gone / How do I begin? I just want to say / Take care of Alaina, Stevie and Uncle Nate,” he raps on the 2024 track. “And baby, be strong, I know I was your rock / And I still am, saying goodbye just ain’t / Always easy, why are you crying? Just stop / Hailie baby dry your eyes this ain’t forever.”

In 2001, Eminem said that his daughter was “a real wake-up call” for him. “She made me step in – make something of my life and try 10 quadrillion times harder than before,” he told the British publication. Q. “Everything I’m doing right now is for Hailie… money – it’s for her college.”

In return, Hailie is known to support her father and his career, even celebrating with her famous father when he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in November 2022.

Scott’s eldest daughter started a podcast, Just a little shady2022. She and her co-host, Brittany Ednie, “talk about my life, pop culture, and get a little confused.”

During the September 2022 episode, Hailie opened up about her unique childhood. When asked if the questions about her dad bothered her, the podcaster said, “The best way to put it is yes and no… Honestly, it does to a point,” she said. “Obviously I expect that. And there are certain things I can understand why people are just genuinely curious, as anyone would be when you kind of grew up half in the limelight.”

In February 2023, Hailie announced that she and her boyfriend of over five years, Evan McClintock, were engaged. The couple eventually tied the knot in May 2024, and Hailie shared photos from the wedding on Instagram.

“We couldn’t have wished for a better, more beautiful celebration of the weekend,” she wrote. “So many happy tears were shed, laughter and smiles, and so much love was felt. Evan and I are so grateful for all the family and friends who traveled to support us and be a part of this new chapter in our lives as husband and wife.”

During an August 2024 episode of her podcast, Hailie admitted that listening to her dad’s latest album, Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), makes her emotional. This is especially true of the songs “Somebody Save Me” and “Temporary”.

“I sobbed audibly, I think, for both songs, but especially for ‘Temporary,'” she said. “But I will say, looking back on the video and listening to the songs, I feel like my parents did such a good job growing up. Where I didn’t realize how bad things were, but now, as an adult looking back, it’s so scary to think about.”

Alaina Marie Scott, 31

Alaina Marie Scott was born on February 22, 1993 in Michigan to Kim’s sister Dawn Scott. Eminem legally adopted her in the early 2000s as her mother struggled with drug addiction and eventually died in 2016 of a suspected overdose.

“I have full custody of my niece,” the rapper said Rolling Stone about the now 31-year-old in 2004. “My niece has been a part of my life since she was born. Me and Kim mostly had her, she would live with us wherever we were.” In 2020, he said that Alaina, who he often calls Lainey in his song lyrics, is “like a daughter” to him.

Eminem name-dropped Alain on his 2004 hit, “Mockingbird,” rapping, “Lainey, uncle’s crazy, ain’t he? / Yeah, but he loves you, girl and you better know it / We’re all we got in this world.”

Alaina attended Oakland University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a double minor in Public Relations and Advertising.

These days, Alaina is a travel blogger who often shares her adventures with her followers on Instagram. In December 2021, she got engaged to her longtime love, Matt Moeller.

“This moment. This life. Yes a hundred times. I LOVE YOU,” she captioned a series of photos from the couple’s rooftop proposal, which included a photo of her beautiful emerald-cut diamond ring.

On June 9, 2023, Alaina married Moeller in an outdoor ceremony in Detroit, Michigan. Many friends and family members were in attendance, including Hailie, who served as maid of honor; and Eminem, who walked Alaina down an 80-foot-long aisle lined with 2,000 white roses.

“He didn’t miss it,” she told PEOPLE. “These are once-in-a-lifetime moments and I’m so grateful that everyone loves me the way I am. None of this would have been possible without my dad. I am beyond blessed.”

Alaina took to Instagram to share photos from her special day, including a silly shot of the happy couple showing off their rings and another picture of the bridal party posing together.

But the wedding celebrations don’t end there: Alaina showed her support for Hailie, who is also getting married.

After her sister’s engagement in February 2023, Alaina posted a sweet tribute on Instagram, writing in the caption, “my sister is finally engaged🥲 there aren’t many moments in life that leave you with pure bliss, but this has to be one of them.”

Alaina also applauded her sister’s accomplishments, adding, “She’s ruining her career right now, she’s ruining being one of my maids of honor, she’s ruining her podcast and everything else she touches. I have no doubt you’re going to ruin being a woman, and you deserve this and so much more. Being able to plan my wedding and experience this now is the most important thing.”

Stevie Laine Scott, 22

Stevie Laine Scott was born on April 16, 2002 in the family of Kim and her then-boyfriend Eric Hartter, with whom she dated between her two marriages to Eminem. When Kim and Eminem reunited, 8 miles star legally adopted Stevie in 2005. Their biological father reportedly passed away in 2019.

The 22-year-old came out as non-binary in August 2021, when they shared a touching video on TikTok documenting their journey through “becoming more comfortable” with themselves. They tagged “#genderfluid” and “#bi” and revealed that they now use “all pronouns” to describe themselves.

They immediately received a lot of support from fans and shared a post thanking them for all the love.

Stevie is in a long-distance relationship with TikToker Declan Jace and often posts cute videos of them together.
