Council buildings from the 1970s deemed unfit for purpose will be demolished, the BBC reports.

There will also be business premises and village greenery.

Other proposed features include surface level parking, a library, community center and leisure space.
Part of a huge £163m masterplan, the plans have been brought forward by Knowsley Council.
An initial £3.6m of funding has already been secured, with Liverpool City Council investing £2m into the project.
Proposals will move into the planning stage, with more information to follow.
Steve Rotheram, Mayor of Liverpool City Region, said: “We’ve shown in Kirkby and Prescot what we can achieve when we work together—and now it’s Huyton’s turn.
“Together with Knowsley Council, we are unlocking Huyton’s potential to become a thriving, modern town that people will be proud of.

“This £2m investment is about more than just new buildings – it’s about creating affordable homes, vibrant green spaces and better facilities that will bring jobs, businesses and life back to the city centre. It’s another step in our mission to ensure that every part of our city region gets a chance to thrive.”
It is not yet known when the works on the development of the town center will begin.
Huyton is a 30 minute drive from Liverpool.
Meanwhile, a former industrial site in Stoke-on-Trent is set to receive a £60 million refurbishment.
Located between Stoke-on-Trent railway station and the Trent & Mersey Canal, Goods Yard is a new urban district in the city.
The first phase of the £60 million development will be completed next spring, with work already underway on the eagerly awaited public square.
According to the site’s creators, Capital&Centric, the new plaza will feature a lawn the same size as a tennis court, a walkway, social areas, seating areas and over 70 trees and plants.
There will also be space for pop-up markets and live music events, which can be visited by both locals and tourists.

Blackpool’s Winter Gardens first opened in 1878, a vast amusement complex with 12 now Grade II listed venues.
The attraction is undergoing upgrades in two areas – the Olympia and the Arena – at an estimated cost of £495,000.
The arena, which opened in 1896, was once an Indian-inspired lounge and cabaret bar before being converted into an event space.
And Olympia, which opened in 1930, is used for exhibitions.
Both are being improved with better bars and facilities, as well as new floors and walls.
Winter Gardens chief executive Michael Williams said: “From 2022 we have embarked on a phased improvement of our bars and catering facilities.
“The benefits of these investments are now evident in the Empress Ballroom and other renovated venues, improving both customer experience and operational efficiency.”
Meanwhile, it’s the UK’s smallest town – and it has a Michelin-starred restaurant.
