Escape to Chateau star Angel Strawbridge is facing a headache this week after a recording of herself screaming at one of the show’s producers was leaked. In the recording obtained by Deadline, the mother-of-two can be heard using aggressive and abusive language while speaking to an anonymous crew member. Duration also confirmed that Strawbridges declined to comment.

Throughout the clip, Angel can be heard saying: “Who inspires when it’s you [expletive] Work in a castle? Just tell me that and then you can [expletive] leave and this is me [expletive] crazy because i think you are [expletive] burn a little [expletive].”

Following the release of the footage, the couple released a joint statement on Instagram. It reads: “We know there are tons of stories in the press right now. We’re not even trying to comment or give context because anything can make a good headline. I see. There are two sides to every story and because of the incredible support we’ve received, most of you know that.
“We’re proud of who we are and feel we have to do what we believe is right, which is really what makes Escape to the Chateau so unique and while we’re really parting ways with Channel 4 , we’re incredibly grateful to them and their teams for their support and creativity over the years. The future really couldn’t be more exciting and we thank you for your continued love and support.”

Earlier this month, it was announced that Channel 4 has officially ended its partnership with Dick and Angel Strawbridge. According to Deadline, the decision was made after an independent investigation into the couple’s behavior on set. While details are yet to be revealed, it seems the concerns were first voiced by Two Rivers Media – the production company behind it. Escape to the Castle Franchising.
The details surrounding the nature of the allegations of conduct are being kept under wraps, however, it is suggested that Strawbridges have been at odds with the manufacturer for some time. Following Two Rivers’ concerns, Channel 4 is said to have continued the investigation by an independent human resources expert.

As a result, both Channel 4 and Two Rivers ultimately decided to get rid of Angel and Dick. Released an official statement, a Channel 4 spokesperson said: “Following our review, we have made the decision not to work with Dick and Angela on any future new productions.”
This is not the first time Angel and Dick – who started working on Escape to the Castle 2016 – they allegedly argued with the manufacturer. The series was originally launched by Spark Media Partners, the independent company that produced the first four seasons. However, their working relationship was later terminated.

In 2021, many Escape to the Castle staff claimed the pair were “aggressive and abusive”, The Times reported.
Following allegations of abuse, Strawbridges quickly denied them. Speaking to The Telegraph, Angel said: “If you asked every single person in our group, they would all say that Dick was absolutely chivalrous. He would always be the one to open doors, help people and if someone did I’m annoyed, he’ll be the first to take control of the situation. He’s very protective.”
