ESPN Apologizes After Airing Clip of Woman Flashing Her Breasts During Sugar Bowl Broadcast

ESPN is apologizing after things got a little spicy Monday night during the Sugar Bowl broadcast.

As the Washington Huskies finally held off the surging Texas Longhorns inside Caesar’s Superdome in New Orleans, near Bourbon Street, a cheerleader bared her breasts — and the national broadcast inadvertently aired the moment while returning from a commercial break.

“We regret that this happened and apologize that the video was broadcast on the telecast,” ESPN’s Bill Hofheimer said in a statement to The Associated Press.

In the clip from the NSFW moment, which aired during the second half of the match, a woman holding a drink can be seen looking up as she pulls up her shirt to reveal her chest.

The excitement in the French Quarter was seemingly matched by the action on the field.

Despite trailing by 13 just seconds into the fourth quarter, Texas fought its way back into the game and had a chance to win in the final minute of the drive.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the College Football Playoff, the University of Michigan defeated the University of Alabama in a big overtime victory, 27-20, to win the Rose Bowl. The win sends Michigan to the national championship game for the first time since 1997, when Tom Brady and the Wolverines last won it all under coach Lloyd Carr.

Brady celebrated the big win with a video of himself shirtless and yelling at the TV in celebration. “Whoah! Let’s go!” Brady, 46, screamed into the camera after the Wolverines defense stopped University of Alabama running back Jalen Milroe on the final play of the game.

Washington and Michigan will meet for the national championship on Monday, January 8 at NRG Stadium in Houston.
