Eva Amurri celebrated her bachelorette party in NOLA style!
The 38-year-old actress and six of her closest friends flew to New Orleans over the weekend to celebrate Amurri’s upcoming wedding to fiancé Ian Hock.
“We had a really fun, retro glam night on the town at the Ritz Carlton New Orleans, which is such a vibe in the best possible way!” she tells PEOPLE.

Amurri, who is Susan Sarandon’s daughter, says the holiday weekend was full of “laughing, dancing and eating” as the group explored the city and enjoyed time together.
“It’s been absolutely amazing to celebrate this new love with amazing friends who have supported me and been there for me through a wild few years,” she says.
“But it was also really wonderful to spend a few days with my girls just laughing, dancing and eating the best food NOLA has to offer,” she adds.

For Amurri and her friends, it was also a rare interruption of a mother’s life. “We all have kids at home, so the uninterrupted time feels extra special,” says the Monarch star, who with ex-husband Kyle Martin has sons Mateo Antonio (3) and Major James (7) and daughter Marlowe Mae (9).
She and Martino announced their divorce in November 2019 after eight years of marriage.
“Having gone through a divorce and subsequently found love, I don’t take any of this for granted – and there were plenty of happy-tear toasts throughout the weekend,” she adds.

When Amurri arrived at the Ritz Carlton, the hotel manager presented her with a white feather umbrella, which she explains is “what all New Orleans brides have when they celebrate.”
“I felt so special!” she recalls, before recounting how she and her friends jokingly compared her last bachelorette party to the ones they experienced in their twenties.
“We were laughing all weekend about the differences between bachelorette parties in our 20s and this ‘older millennial’ bachelorette party we had,” she tells PEOPLE. “I have to say that I enjoyed this one more than the last one. I think mostly because I enjoy myself and my friendships a lot more and I just appreciate life in a different way.”

In a funny twist, Amurri suffered an unexpected injury over the weekend in New Orleans.
“I actually threw my back out on the last day going to the pole dancing class we had planned and we almost peed our pants laughing at how perfect it was for round two of a bachelorette party,” shares Amurri. “I can’t say I could keep up with the fun like I could in my twenties, but it was still hilarious and so much fun.”
– I can’t wait for the wedding in June! she adds, teasing that more fun is to come.

Amurri and her children are also planning an epic family dance for the reception. “We asked all three kids if there was anything that was really important to them, and so far all they’ve come up with is dancing together,” she explained. “All five at the reception. I think it’s going to be great fun.”
In May 2023, Amurri gave PEOPLE a behind-the-scenes look at her search for the perfect wedding dress. After visiting several different bridal salons, she finally found one that at the Bridal Reflections store.
“I just loved how my body looked in it,” she said at the time. “And that the feeling it gave me was old-school elegance and a vintage-style bride vibe. I put it on, came out of the dressing room, and there were tears all around.”
