Eva Mendes Jokes Partner Ryan Gosling Isn’t ‘My Man’ — He’s ‘Our Man’

Eva Mendes is well aware that she has to share her longtime partner Ryan Gosling’s song “Kenergy” with the rest of the world.

Last week, the actress and mother of two, 49, showed her love for Gosling by posting a video on Instagram of the actor, 43, and music producer Mark Ronson, 48, as they appeared to be working on a new version of the hit song “I’m Just Ken ” from Barbie.

Sitting down at the piano, Gosling, who plays Ken in the blockbuster hit, begins to play as the camera pans around the studio, first focusing on the star and then switching to a shot of Ronson working the mixing board. The words “I’m Just Ken / Merry Kristmas Barbie” appear on the screen as Gosling and Ronson can be heard discussing the right way to start the song.

In her caption, Mendes gushed about her love, saying, “So grateful to @iammarkronson for making my man make more music. Dead Man’s Bones is my favorite band ….when I first heard Ryan sing, MY HEART EXPLODED. ”

However, some jokingly took offense to Mendes calling Gosling “my man” in the comments.

“@rosemontes.ou you are right ! Our man. It will never happen again. Merry Christmas! Lots of love!!” Mendes responded hilariously.

This isn’t the first time Mendes has cheered Gosling on from the sidelines while promoting his role as Ken in Barbie this year. From reposting director Greta Gerwig’s glowing comments to emblazoning his face on her own T-shirt, the actress was by Gosling’s side every step of the way — and he wasn’t left out.

In an interview with Access to Hollywood at the film’s Los Angeles world premiere in July, Gosling was asked how he felt about all of Mendes’ Instagram posts.

Mendes and Gosling have been dating since 2011 after meeting on the set of their movie A place behind the pines. Although the couple never married, they have two children: Esmeralda, 9, and Amada, 7.

Barbie became the highest-grossing film of 2023 (and Warner Bros. highest-grossing film ever!) with more than $1.44 billion worldwide after its July release.

While there are no official plans for a sequel yet, Gosling isn’t shy about reprising his role in a potential sequel.
