Eva Mendes Shares Video from Ryan Gosling’s Oscars 2024 Dressing Room: ‘Always By My Man’

Eva Mendes is supporting her favorite Ken ahead of his performance at the 2024 Oscars.

Ahead of Hollywood’s biggest night, the 50-year-old actress shared a video on Instagram showing her outside her partner’s dressing room, ready for his Oscar nomination Barbie the song “I’m Just Ken.”

“Always by your man,” she captioned the video.

In the video, Mendes wears a denim-on-denim look in a denim skirt and coordinating jacket. She completed the look with a black baseball cap.

The 43-year-old actor will take the stage to perform “I’m Just Ken” at the upcoming 96th Academy Awards on Sunday night, Diversity reported last month.

In January, Mendes, who has been in a relationship with Gosling since they met on the set of the movie in 2012. A place behind the pinesalso celebrated Gosling who received an Oscar nomination for his role in Barbie. She shared a tribute to him on Instagram by posting screenshots of articles that questioned his ability to play Ken when photos of him in the smash hit film were first released in June 2022.

“So proud of my man. So much hate when he took on this role,” Mendes captioned her post. “So many people are trying to shame him for doing that.”

“Despite all the mockery of #Notmyken and the articles written about him, he created this completely original, hilarious, heartbreaking, now iconic character and took it all the way to the Oscars,” she added in her caption. “More than proud to be this Ken’s Barbie 💕”

Mendes — who shares daughters Esmeralda, 9, and Amada, 7, with Gosling — has been the actor’s No. 1 supporter this awards season; shared a GIF on Instagram of Gosling’s tongue-in-cheek reaction to winning best song for “I’m Just Ken” at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards after the Jan. 14 ceremony.

“I LOVE HIM!!!!” – wrote Mendes in the description of that post.

Gosling’s nomination for the role of Ken — one of a total of eight nominations Barbie received the 96th Oscar — marks the third time in his career that the Academy has recognized him, after his roles in 2006. When the actor himself reacted to his nomination, he took time to note his disappointment that neither his co-star Margot Robbie nor their director Greta Gerwig were in the Best Actress or Best Director categories.

No recognition would be possible for anyone in the film without their talent, courage and ingenuity,” Gosling said in a statement shared with PEOPLE. He added that to say he was disappointed that Robbie and Gerwig weren’t nominated in their respective categories “would be an understatement . ”
