although Arkham Asylum More inclined to the Metroidvania style, Batman: Arkham City A more traditional open world map was chosen. As a result, the award-winning sequel is full of side quests to keep players busy Arkham City When not fighting Hugo Strange and the Joker.
As with most open world games, side quests Batman: Arkham City Quality varies. Some are beloved quests throughout the series, allowing players to encounter a variety of Batman villains. Meanwhile, others waste more time fleshing out the game.
remote hideaway
It’s hard to even call it a side quest. Once the jammer is unlocked, Batman can get an upgrade from the undercover cop inside the Penguin’s famous Iceberg Lounge.
Instead of a challenge to overcome in order to earn upgrades, players battle small groups of enemies outside the lounge. From there, Batman gets an upgrade, which ends the mission. It’s very anti-climactic.
violence
Batman is known for stopping alleyway robberies. In that respect, violence is largely a staple of the character, and saving innocent prisoners from criminals can be satisfying.
Where this side quest starts to falter is that each encounter is randomized, which can be annoying if someone’s goal is 100% completion. There’s also no change in how robberies are handled. It’s just a matter of finding the mugger and knocking him down at the player’s will.
hot and cold
This quest is essentially the same as the Remote Hideout, but at least requires the upgrade to be found inside the Joker’s Iron Works. Also, the room where Batman can find the upgrade is filled with a horde of enemies.
So finding the Freeze Cluster Grenade (Frozen Cluster Grenade), one of the many cool gadgets in the world, is an even bigger challenge. Arkham game. For side quests, though, it doesn’t offer much beyond a slight distraction from the main quest.
augmented reality training
This side quest is important as it unlocks the Grapnel Boost which is crucial when roaming arkham city. It’s also a great way to learn the details of Batman’s cape gliding.
There’s nothing particularly wrong with this task, except that finding each AR training waypoint is a bit tedious. However, aside from upgrades, it also doesn’t offer anything that makes it particularly interesting.
tea party
Peter MacNichol debuts Batman: Arkham Play as the Mad Hatter with quick side quests Batman: Arkham City. Hart used his mind control device to lure Batman into a trap and took him to a tea party inside the walls of Arkham City.
The psychological tricks that Hart performs are certainly creepy, but the highlight of the side mission is Batman being teleported into a clockwork arena. Wearing a March Hare mask, he is forced to fight mind-controlled thugs in Hart’s world.A bit quick, but made an impact, which is why Hart was brought back in both games Arkham Origins and Arkham Knight.
fragile alliance
Batman and Bane teaming up is a genius idea. However, the concept was underutilized as it was essentially a scavenger hunt with Batman looking for Bane. It’s still fun to hunt down the Titan Jars scattered throughout the city, but it’s essentially the same action over and over again.
It does end with Batman and Bane fighting together against a group of enemies. It’s a satisfying feeling to see Batman form an alliance with his enemies, but as the mission title suggests, it’s not exactly a partnership. Bane does betray Batman, which could have resulted in a boss fight, but instead, Batman kills Bane in a cutscene, creating another anti-climactic ending.
puzzle
Before the Riddler became one of the series’ overused villains, his character arkham city. There are plenty of riddles and trophies, some challenging and others not so challenging. This mission really starts to shine, with the Enigma machine leading to where the Riddle hostages are.
It’s with these hostages that the Riddler becomes even more of a threat, with his traps reminiscent of saw.even matt reeves ‘ riddleman batman seemingly from Arkham game. The biggest drawback to this mission is how long it takes to complete 100%, and the Riddler’s glitchy transmissions can be quite annoying.
watchman on wings
There’s always a mystery in Batman’s stories; Arkham Games are no exception. Arkham Asylum has the Arkham Soul quest, which involves figuring out who is the reincarnation of Amadeus Arkham. arkham city Batman is stalked by a strange figure wearing a hood and cape.
It’s easy to miss the observer, and he is the mysterious Azrael. Each encounter allows the mystery to continue until it is revealed that he serves an ancient organization. Just when it looks like there should be a boss fight, the mission ends, setting the stage for Azrael’s return in the next game. It’s a short but sweet mission that does what it does to get fans excited for more to come arkham knight.
shot in the dark
This task has more variety. There are investigative elements, allowing for more detective-based gameplay, a race against time to save Jack Ryder, and a boss fight with Deadshot.
It’s not the most complex side mission, but it does establish more of the Arkham Universe’s lore and focus on a more obscure villain. arkham city come out.Now Deadshot is even more popular and has appeared in suicide squad film and will be star actor Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
identity theft
Similar to the Death Mission, this is another mission that ends in a cliffhanger, but it’s much better.Brutal and twisted killings continue to emerge arkham city Batman tries to find out why this killer takes people’s faces off.
The voice of “Hush” was finally voiced by Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy. It heightens the tension and mystery that the killer is going for, and just when everything seems about to end with a boss encounter, Hush disappears. This left room for Quiet to return, which he certainly did in one of the most memorable side missions in Star Wars. Arkham Knight.
ice heart
Whether it’s a comic, an animated series, or an Arkham game, Mr. Freeze has a talent for stealing the show.exist arkham cityhis mission actually begins with one of the best boss fights in the world Arkham Not only does the series begin a new chapter in the main story, but now Batman must find Nora Freese.
Finding Nora isn’t a difficult challenge, but Mr. Freeze’s plight is always sympathetic. He just wants to be with his wife, but Nora is kidnapped by clown thugs. It’s actually quite touching to have the two back together, especially when you learn through dialogue in Arkham Knight that Nora realizes she’s in a frozen state.
cold call killer
Ignore the fact that Victor Zsasz tends to activate his random missions at the worst moments in the story, cold call killer is great. Victor Zsasz escalates from two small encounters to an entire long-term side mission dedicated to hunting him down.
Batman must answer the call and find another ringing phone in Arkham City. Each time, it gets harder and harder to find the next call and the time to answer the call gets tighter and tighter. Thankfully, players are rewarded by learning more and more about Zsasz’s twisted origin story and ultimately meeting Zsasz himself.
