But remember, it’s a good thing and should be encouraged.

Your task is to spot the gecko hiding in the tree.

You have to complete the mission in less than ten seconds.

If you are successful, then you have 20/20 vision and a really high level of visual acuity.

But it’s fair to say that this is one hell of a tricky quest.

The exotic amphibian is almost impossible to see.

A keen photographer caught him on camera.

The setting is a wildlife reserve in Madagascar, an island off the southeast coast of Africa.

Zoologically speaking, this cute guy is uroplatus fimbriatus or leaf-tailed macaque.

They are nocturnal forest-dwelling lizards and are endemic to this island and other islands in the Indian Ocean.

Their bodies are long and flattened, and they are known for their leaf-like tails.

It should come as no surprise to learn that their camouflage is second to none.

This ability to seamlessly blend into the background makes this task very difficult.

This cute macaque is resting on the bark of a tree, but can you figure out where?

Advantages of optical illusions

Researchers have developed many tests to show how different regions of the brain respond to optical illusions.

  • They are not only entertaining, but shed light on how our brain interprets visual data
  • By regularly exercising your brain, you improve your ability to focus and observe details
  • Research has shown that people who regularly face optical illusions and puzzles see huge improvements in their problem-solving skills, concentration and attention
  • Improved concentration and attention span, in turn, can help prevent cognitive decline in old age
  • Psychologists at the University of Glasgow have discovered that the onset of an optical illusion can improve vision by allowing you to see fine print

You have 15 seconds to find the deer hiding among the trees.

If you succeed, you can congratulate yourself. This means you have 20/20 vision.

The forest canopy has an opening above that lets in sunlight.

It only adds to the confusion, casting shadows that could mislead you in your search.

Tall trees overhang the lower ones, and moss and underbrush litter the ground.

Deer are always on the lookout for a hunter, as is the case in this game.

Didn’t find it? We can give you a clue to help you in your search.

Look at the lower right quarter of the picture.
