As she got into the swing of things, Bryan noticed that there was one thing she was struggling with.

“When she has to say ‘No,’ she’s like, ‘I don’t want to tell them no,'” Bryan said of Underwood. “But that’s part of it in a way [of the job]. It’s hard when you have a child who is young and hasn’t found who he is musically yet.”

During an August interview with Seattle radio host Gabe Mercer, Bryan shared another piece of advice for his fellow judge. (Underwood will join Bryan and Lionel Richie on the judging panel.)

“Get your therapist,” Bryan joked on a TikTok posted by Mercer. “If he has a therapist, he’ll probably have to double up to deal with me and Lionel.”

“Maybe I should give her credit,” he added. “Do therapists give gift cards where I can call her therapist and give her a voucher?”
