The medical staff of both teams came to his aid when a stretcher was seen being brought onto the field.

Fortunately, Chong was quickly seen on his feet.

Sky Sports reporter David Craig reported that the 24-year-old could have walked off the field.

He was said to be seen with a large bump on the left side of his forehead after the crash.

It was also reported that Chong could talk to people.

Luton later confirmed that Chong was able to walk to the locker room after the floor period.

Speaking on social media, Plymouth added: “Great to see Tahith Chong off after treatment, after going down towards the end of the first half.”

Chong was replaced at halftime by Jacob Brown.

After the game, Rob Edwards reported on Chong’s condition.

He said: “He’s up… We’ll have to wait and see about the concussion.”

Before tonight’s game at Home Park, Chong had played in all six of the Hatters’ games since their return to the Championship.

He scored one goal for the Edwards team.

The Dutchman signed for the Hatters in 2023 from Birmingham after they won promotion to the Premier League, having left Man Utd to join the Blues in 2022.

Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth took the lead through Rami Al Haj after just eight minutes.

They added a second with a great strike from substitute Ibrahim Cissok.

Luton pulled one back a second later with Victor Moses – scoring his first goal in English football since 2018 with Chelsea.

Cissoko sealed the deal for the Pilgrims with a smart backhand strike into the bottom left corner after a mesmerizing piece of skill in stoppage time.

The result leaves Plymouth in 14th place and four points clear of the relegation zone with two wins in three before the rest of the division take to the field at the weekend.

Meanwhile, Luton are just three points above the drop in 16th place.
