During their meeting, Berman handed Anwar a music tape and asked him to write lyrics for it. It was at that moment that Anwar wrote the lyrics of the title song of the film Tum Karo Vaada (1993) in 15 to 20 minutes. RD Burman was impressed by Anwar’s talent and subsequently selected him to compose three songs for the film. This marks Anwar’s debut in the film industry. Anwar wrote the lyrics of the song “Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin” within 40 minutes on the spot. Bhatt was so impressed after hearing the song that he made it the last song in the movie Aashiqui. However, for some reason, the song was removed from the movie. Instead, it became the title song of another film, “Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahi” (1991).

It wasn’t stolen, but I sold my song, and for a really good price. For one song, I charge the equivalent of ten songs. If you ask who did it, I won’t tell. Money is what I need and I can’t say my OCD is being taken advantage of. I have no complaints. “
