Family Behind ‘Xmas Jammies’ Celebrates 10th Anniversary of Viral Hit and Shares How It Changed Their Lives

The family behind the viral “Xmas Jammies” video are marking their 10th anniversary with a brand new rendition of the Christmas rap.

The Holderness family (who may be familiar to fans Amazing race) returns with “Xmas Jammies: Ten Years Later,” a nod to the 2013 YouTube video that put them on the map.

In an updated version of the song, which is set to the tune of Will Smith’s 1997 hit “Miami,” mom Kim and dad Penn celebrate the video they say helped launch “a real career.”

“We loved hearing from so many of you and how your lives are like ours,” Penn said in a video posted on Dec. 12.

The new video also includes appearances by Kim and Penn’s children, Lola and Penn Charles, who no longer fit into their Christmas outfits from a decade ago.

The original “Xmas Jammies” video has been viewed more than 18 million times since it was first uploaded in December 2013.

Along with creating creative videos for their YouTube channel for the past decade, the Holdernesses have also launched an award-winning podcast, published multiple books and even found time to score a 33rd season of the show. Amazing race.

In the new video, Lola said the success of the video has helped her family live a closer life than ever before. Before becoming a content creator, Penn worked as an announcer, and because of his demanding schedule, Lola said she has very few memories of him “at an early age.”

But that soon changed after “Xmas Jammies” went viral. Now she says her father’s new job “has given him the opportunity to be home and spend more time with us.”

“I am very grateful to him because I can’t imagine what it would have been like if he had continued with that job and I had never seen him,” she added.

As for the future, the family has no plans to stop their online entertainment anytime soon. In their new Christmas rap, Penn joked about filming the video until he and Kim are in adult diapers.

“Can’t wait to see what else is in store, here’s to the next 10!” he raps.
