Fans reckon Jamie Carragher ‘goes full Gary Neville’ at full time of Chelsea’s thrilling draw against Man City

FOOTBALL fans have accused Jamie Carragher of “pulling Gary Neville out a lot” with his comments during Chelsea’s incredible 4-4 draw against Manchester City.

Manchester United legend Neville, 48, has developed a reputation for screaming and squirming live on air, and the noise is often mocked on social media.

He famously let out a long moan when Fernando Torres scored for Chelsea against Barcelona 11 years ago.

But he was off duty for Sunday’s clash at Stamford Bridge as Liverpool icon Carragher accompanied Peter Drury into the commentary box.

And viewers caught the former Reds defender, 45, whining in similar fashion.

Carragher made noises at various times during the game as Chelsea came from behind on two occasions – with Cole Palmer scoring a stoppage-time penalty against his former club.

One of the sounds was heard late in the game when referee Anthony Taylor blew his whistle as Chelsea tried to counter-attack.

And plenty of fans were quick to react on social media.

One said: “Carragher is worse than Neville because of the moaning sounds every time something happens..Sky must have a say.”

Another added: “By the end of that game, Carragher was doing the Gary Neville thing where he’s giving up on commentary and just making noises.”

A third replied: “Oh I’m sorry but what the hell Jamie Carragher is 🤣. It was a good game but it wasn’t orgasmic jesus.”

While a fourth replied: “I love Carragher and Neville on MNF they are brilliant but everything is too emotional on commentary. Too much shouting.”
