There are many useful currencies in Final Fantasy 14, and throughout the game’s life we’ve had various types of hunting-related currencies, something that’s been around since A Realm Reborn.
If you’re not familiar with all of this, you’ll need to start with the level 50 quest Let The Hunt Begin, which is offered by your Grand Company. You can then start fighting various monsters from around the world, alone or with allies, and earn tokens to purchase exclusive items.
If you’ve participated in The Hunt, Clan Hunts, and Veteran Clan Hunts, you should be well prepared for The First’s counterpart, the Nutsy Clan Hunts. This coin has a different name than it did in the last few expansions, since we no longer use The Source.
Instead of Heavensward and Stormblood Centurio Seals, you’re dealing with bags of nuts.
The best way to earn nuts
When it comes to nuts, there really aren’t many gimmicks or get-rich-quick schemes to get you out of trouble.
Of course, if you focus on daily and weekly tasks, and follow the server hunting community, you can still get them consistently.
Clan Mark Notes
Every day in Reset, you can check out the Nut Dashboard at The Crystarium (Temenos Rookery) or Eulmore (The Mainstay) to get your One-Nut, Two-Nut, and Three-Nut bills. These markers cover all six areas of Norvrandt (Lakeland, Kholusia, Amh Araeng, Il Mheg, Rak’Tika Greatwood, and The Tempest).
Checking the 15 marks on the bill (5 marks each) will earn you 110 bags of nuts per day. This can take a long time to teleport and kill monsters, which I can’t always do if I’m busy that day. If you only have time to buy three nut bills, you can still earn 75 bags of nuts for those 5 tokens.
Finding your daily bookmarks is an activity that can easily fill the time you spend waiting in line for duty or attending a party. If you’ll be in the area anyway doing Pixie Beast Horde quests or perhaps collecting timed nodes, you can make it part of your routine as well.
Nutsy Mark Bill Elite Clan (Tier B)
After each weekly reset, you can also check the Nutboard to see which Rank B Elite token you are tasked with killing. These markers are fairly easy for a level 80 capable player, and each area has two.
Killing a B-tier player who isn’t on your weekly bill gives you no reward at all, so you can just ignore them (or/yell their location to anyone in the area who might need it for their own bill). ) . They are not hostile mobs, so you don’t have to worry about accidentally provoking them.
If you’re not sure where exactly your markers are on the map, check your possible footholds here. Don’t be afraid to ask quickly or out loud if anyone in the area saw it.
Elite Marks (A and S rank)
If you’ve completed the daily and weekly Mark Bills, the only other way to get a bag of nuts is to find and kill higher ranked Elite Marks. If you’ve ever walked into an area and seen people yelling “inv pls”, that probably means someone has found an elite marker and people are rallying to fight it.
Sometimes people also call them at centers like Eulmore or The Crystarium if they want to bring more people together. These fights are much harder than the B-rank brands, and most fights I’ve been in have at least a full team working together.
During peak hours, there are usually three or more parties and they sell out quickly. Your party’s contribution is calculated collectively, so in these cases you really want to party to make sure you get rewarded with points.
These A and S tier marked locations are also found on web maps and typically have more possible locations than B tier. Each A tier has a separate 4-6 hour respawn timer, while S tier they respawn after a few days and have special respawn requirements, which are listed in the link above.
As long as your server has one or more lookup links active, you don’t need to worry about keeping track of these timers yourself. If you can find one of these, you’ll see messages calling you when it’s found. You can simply teleport to the appropriate Ethereum and request to be invited to the party. Of course, you need to get to a job at level 80.
If you’re lucky enough to ride the full train, these players will travel to each Shadowbringer area, killing each area’s elite marker. For example, the A-class train will kill two A-classes in each of the six regions, giving you a total of 240 bags of nuts. It takes 20-30 minutes to complete the race, depending on how many players joined.
A rank rewards you with 40 bags of nuts, while S rank will get you up to 100 bags. The extremely rare Tier S Forgiven Rebellion has a chance to spawn after killing an S Tier, and if you’re one of the lucky few to come across this and defeat it, you can walk away with another 400 bags of Nuts.
What should I spend?
You can buy it from two vendors. There’s Ilfroy in Eulmore’s undergrowth by The Mainstay Ethernet Shard [11.0, 10.8] and Xylle by The Temenos Rookery Aethernet Shard in The Crystarium [9.4, 9.5].
Here’s a quick look at what you can buy with bags of nuts, and what types of items they are.
Now, which one should you buy with your hard-earned nuts? It obviously depends on how much you like the game. Many players enjoy collecting mounts and minions, especially ones that have aesthetics they like.
Other players may just want to get their gear up and ready for a raid as quickly as possible, so they can choose to help out as well.
Fusion Gear i440
In addition to the list in the image above, these vendors also have options to show you DoW and DoM Ronkan sets, which can be useful if you’re new to level 80. It’s just a small step up from your i430 Job Gear and will be replaced soon. , so keep that in mind if you want to stick with Nuts.
If you’re looking for glam, you’ll probably love the aesthetic of these clothes, and that’s the only way to get them. Fortunately, they’re pretty cheap on their own.
Deep Shadow Team i460
As of patch 5.4, you can now purchase the Deepshadow set from Clan Nutsy Vendors. If you need to get through a level 80 MSQ dungeon, this is a quick option to increase your average item level, but it will definitely be outclassed by Fable, Apocalypse, or even dungeon gear.
For what it’s worth, I think the suits look great charm-wise, with the default red and black color scheme, and lots of edgy weapons.
minions
Nuts Member Store currently offers two types of followers. The first is the little platypus, which is a cute platypus. This minion will eat from your hand with the /delivery smiley and will jump excited if you /pet him.
Clockwork Numou looks like a stuffed toy for children. Unlike Duckbill, Nu Mou needs to be equipped with the Mammeteer title to express himself to you. This will allow you to call the minion to eat what you offer, shake his head from side to side, and flap his ears when you pet him.
Both minions require 800 bags of nuts.
housing and music
The Crystarium Flashy Mannequin (above) is a level 80 mannequin that you can use as outdoor furniture for your abode. Nothing fancy, just a regular wooden pole like the one they used to train The First. It’s cheap though, only 300 walnuts.
It is worth noting that this eye-catching mannequin is for sale. In theory, you could list it on the market board and potentially earn some coins depending on the supply and demand on your server.
If you like the music featured in Shadowbringers, you’ll remember Rencounter as the song that plays when you go into battle in the Norvrandt area. He also appears in some Shadowbringers trailers. Listen to the track here.
Even if you’re not a fan of it (or if you’re just sick of it), you might want to add it to your orchestrion collection, since it’s relatively cheap at 300 bags of nuts.
Mountain
The Forgiven Horn of Reluctance summons a majestic steed that you might recognize from the main scenario quest in Shadowbringers; he is the great lion-like sin eater who still haunts Lord Vauthry’s chambers.
I have to say, it’s a lot bigger than I thought it would be, so you’ll want to save your money for this one if you want to keep your eyes on it. It’s a high-priced item (3200 Nuts), so unless you’re really committed to finding trains on your server, it’ll take some time.
equipment upgrade
If you’re in a hurry to get your premium gear, or if you’ve bought all the decorations you want, you can spend your remaining bag of nuts on the following items.
Deepshadow Twine and Deepshadow Coating will upgrade the left and right sides of your i460 respectively to an i470 Augmented Deepshadow device.
You will notice that the twine is 1.5 times more expensive than the lining. However, if you buy string and lining with artificial coins, they cost the same. Therefore, the best strategy is to spend Nuts on coatings first, then use The Copied Factory weekly rewards to get thread.
If you need combat materials, you can get Tier VII and VIII combat materials here, but the price is too high in my opinion compared to other sources of materials, I only recommend buying these materials if you don’t have other cost Bags of Nuts.
Remember to check the market board first when buying materials, especially if you need a less popular material like ability speed or spell speed. It’s better to buy a gil that sells the most in the market and use that gil to buy the material or materials you want to get.
Alternatively, you can spend your extra nuts on Tier VII materials and stake with Mutamix Bubblypots in Central Thanalan to try and get some crafting or gathering materials that usually sell for higher prices.
resume
I hope you have decided what you want to save your money for. Sacks of nuts are hard-earned, and you may find it easier to pace yourself and set goals to get what you want.
Have you ever bought any cosmetics? If so, how long do you have to wait? Please let me know which of these providers’ offers appeals to you the most.
