FKA twigs Declares 'People Who Walk Through TSA Barefoot Should Be Banned' from Airports

FKA twigs has some thoughts on people’s air travel habits.

In a Subway Takes with Kareem Rahma video shared to Xu on Wednesday, Jan. 8, the “Cellophane” singer, 36, shared her views on touching surfaces that other people have touched, mostly when it comes to travel.

When asked how she looked, twigs said that “people who go through TSA barefoot should be banned from traveling and sent home.” Rahma agreed, saying that if someone goes through TSA security without socks, they should go to “maybe jail.”

“They should put a jail in the airport for people who walk around with their toes sticking out,” he continued, while the singer called it “reckless” before moving on to another “topic”.

“You know when you have to stand safely with your feet on yellow feet? If someone’s bare feet were where mine would go, even if they had socks on,” she said.

“I feel like the sweat of their feet is going to soak my socks and then I have to travel eight hours with it. And know that we touched feet.” She then confirmed that she believed the “foot breath” of other passengers would travel through her socks.

Meanwhile, Rahma voiced his own complaints: when people were wearing shorts or tank tops on the plane. “It’s freezing in there!”

Elsewhere in the video, twigs mentioned that if someone pats her down through security, she’ll ask the TSA officer to change their gloves, since they “massage hundreds of people” and then have “massage hands” on her for the duration of her flight.

Crow the actress revealed at the time that she has contact OCD, saying that she “can basically trace everything that’s touched in the room,” hence her concern about touching other surfaces while traveling.

Rahma then grabbed a subway pole and jokingly tried to shake hands with the twigs. The irony of having this conversation on the New York subway, which is considered extremely dirty, was not lost on fans.

Others agreed with twigs’ travel habits. “I agree, I never put my feet on the yellow footprints. Only outside them,” wrote one person.

“I agree with the sentiment that if someone walks barefoot through a TSA checkpoint they should be arrested. 😂😂😂,” said another fan.

In short: if you see branches at the airport, be sure to put on your socks!
