A FOOTBALL star has been paying his struggling ex-girlfriend £8 a month in maintenance – leaving her to raise their son on Pot Noodles.
The former player, a regular on TV, radio and computer games, hid his assets, she claims, to make sure he qualified for rate-free child support.

She claims the player, who spent part of his more than 20-year career in the Championship, owes hundreds of thousands in child support for their boy, now 14.
He says the figures show he earns less than £7 a week.
The girl said: “My son had to eat a £1.80 packet of noodles for dinner on really tough days. He once asked me for ice cream, I couldn’t afford it. It broke my heart.
“He had to wear clothes that were too small. He wanted to go to boxing and basketball, but I can’t afford the tuition. Everything I earn goes to him and my house.”
The couple had been in a relationship for two years before she got pregnant.
She said, “The mask has fallen. He said: ‘You can’t be pregnant, I’m married’. I was amazed.”
She says she foolishly accepted an ex-player’s offer of £10,000 to avoid taking their financial dispute to court.
She added: “But I expected the basic child support to continue, which to my surprise was abruptly terminated.
“The officials told me their records show he earns less than £7 a week, so he can send whatever he wants.
“He seems like a jolly man. His hypocrisy is incredible.”
