The Isthmian Premier League clash was tied 0-0 when the shocking incident took place.

Both Cray and Margate announced on their official X accounts that Bamba was left grounded in the second minute of added time.

It was later revealed that he had suffered an “accidental head injury”.

The forward was treated by doctors while the game was put on ice.

And the captains of both sides talked about how to proceed with the referee.

An ambulance was immediately called for Bamba.

It was then agreed that the last two minutes would be played after he was safely transported to the hospital.

And both sides left the field as Bamba continued to receive medical attention.

But 20 minutes later, the decision was made to stop the game completely.

Cray Wanderers informed fans, saying: “Due to the serious nature of Yahya Bamba’s injury and the emergency treatment required, the match has been abandoned.

They later wrote: “Our thoughts are with Yahya Bamba who was taken to hospital by ambulance after a long period of care on the pitch.

“Our love and thoughts are with Yahya and the dedication of the medical teams on both sides and the paramedics on duty.”
