The amazing illusion shows a fluffy cat walking up some gray stairs.
Although you can clearly see the cute creature’s face looking directly at you, it’s hard to tell which direction it’s going.
But if you manage to crack a riddle in just five seconds, it could be a sign of your exceptional intelligence.
Studies show that the more you exercise your brain with difficult riddles, the smarter you become.
Of course, many people can find their cat going up or down the stairs, so don’t worry if you can’t handle it.
The riddle sparked a heated debate among Reddit users, who put forward strong arguments for their answers.
If you take a closer look at the impressive illusion, you may notice a sign that reveals the direction.
Many users have pointed out that there is a noticeable edge to the stairs in the image, which can only be seen from an upwards perspective, which means that the moggy is coming down the stairs.
However, others have pointed out that the mosaic stairway may actually have been decorated with a protective wooden border.
This would mean that the cat is going up the stairs.
Some sharp-eyed viewers suggested that the reflection of light revealed the answer.
You can see the cat going down with the light coming from the ceiling or going up with the light coming from below.
And Reddit users even analyzed the cat’s posture and paw position to help them solve the puzzle.
One wrote: “Above, check out the elevation of the jack’s rear. If it was going down, it would be at a different angle and probably lower.”
Another added: “Below, the part that protrudes from the stairs would be placed illogically on top.”
A third said: “Look at the cat’s tail: it points up or away from the direction it’s moving.
“When a cat went up the stairs, its tail would point downward.”
And the fourth announced: “The cat is going up, the tail is used to balance the cat’s body and in this case the tail is raised up.
“So when a cat uses its hind legs to push itself up, it does so parallel to the line where gravity acts on its tail to stabilize itself.”
We have said before that a remarkable image can also reveal whether you are an optimist or a pessimist.
Depending on which direction you choose to travel, The Minds Journal claims it can reveal your approach to life.
