According to sources close to the former couple, the divorce was filed in Colorado earlier this year. However, the court file was never made public as the former couple kept the information secret. Insiders also told the newspaper that the couple is still in touch as they co-parent their three children. James and Francesca met in 1992 and got married in 1997. They have a son Castor and two daughters Cali (20) and Marcella (16). The singer and his family are said to be in Vail, Colorado, Francesca’s hometown.

Francesca Hetfield is a costume designer from the United States. She was born on January 27, 1970 in the Argentine province of Rosario. Francesca started working as a waitress in a pub near her home after graduating from high school and did not go on to college to further her education. At the age of 23, she started a profession in the costume design sector. Francesca has an estimated net worth of $1 million, according to ABTC. Most of the money came from her profession as a costume designer. According to reports, she met her husband James while working as a designer for Metallica, his heavy metal band.

You have to go somewhere and sort this out.’ That’s exactly what I did.”
James Hetfield is said to have been sober since 2002. He previously mentioned that Francesca helped him deal with his personal problems in a “constructive” way. In 2005, the musician told NPR that his wife helped him “mature” when he became “natural” with his addiction and temper. Unfortunately, the romance of James and Francesca Hetfield ended earlier this year, although the couple has not yet officially announced that they are divorcing.
