Former West Ham manager David Moyes, 61, received an OBE for services to football.

The honorary companion, of which there are only 65 recipients at any given time, is awarded to The Remains of the Day author Sir Kazuo Ishiguro, 70.

Beloved children’s author Jacqueline Wilson, 79, who is already a Dame, is made a Dame Grand Cross of the Order of the British Empire.
A total of 1,203 people were recognized on the list, which focused on unsung heroes. Victims of the Post Office Horizon IT scandal, Lee Castleton, Jo Hamilton, Christopher Head and Seema Misra have been made OBEs for services to justice.

DAVID Beckham has again missed out on a knighthood in the King’s New Year’s honors list — despite appearing to be edging closer to the royal family.
The former England captain, 49, has attended five royal events this year and has been named an ambassador for The King’s Foundation.
His frustration at being overlooked surfaced in 2017 in leaked emails in which he criticized the Honors Committee for failing to make him Sir.

KING Charles has awarded top gongs to two of his doctors after a year-long battle with cancer.
The king (76) paid tribute to his general practitioner, dr. Douglas Glass, otherwise known as the king’s pharmacist, and his doctor prof. To Richard Leach.
Dr Glass was at Balmoral when Queen Elizabeth II died.
He was already a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order (RVO) and is now a Commander.
Prof Leach, consultant physician at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital Trust, London, has been made Lt RVO,
Queen Camilla’s lady of the house Dame Whitehead has been promoted to Dame Grand Cross.
Former general practitioner of Queen Elizabeth, dr. Kirstin Ostle, became the lieutenant of the RVO.
And Prince William’s outgoing groom, Lieutenant Rob Dixon — seen celebrating with Wills at England’s Euro 2024 win over the Swiss — has become a member of the RVO.

The police officer who led the search for the killer of Olivia Pratt-Korbel (9) was awarded the King’s Police Medal.
Head of the department Mark Baker led the investigation into Thomas Cashman who fired a gun into her home in Liverpool in August 2022.
He tried to kill gangster rival Joseph Nee who had barged in on him, but Olivia was shot.
Mark, who is now retired, said: “I am extremely proud.
“It reflects the work that goes on across Merseyside on a day-to-day basis.”

LONDON Mayor Sadiq Khan has been “rewarded for failure” with a knighthood – despite his Intruder plan sparking outrage.
The Labor politician was given the nod despite a petition against him that had collected more than 206,000 signatures.
Former Tory MP Steve Tuckwell said: “Many Londoners, especially those in the outer suburbs, will be shocked.”
Meanwhile, Labor MP Emily Thornberry, chair of the foreign affairs committee, was made a dame.
Veterans ‘unsung heroes’

A FORMER Second World War bomber pilot aged 103 is one of the service veterans today recognized as “unsung heroes”.
Colin Bell — who flew 50 missions over Germany and received the Distinguished Flying Cross — was awarded the Empire Medal for charitable services.
George Kelly, 101, an RAF navigator during the Second World War, was made an MBE for voluntary service to the Royal British Legion and Royal Air Force veterans.

He participated in the Berlin Airlift in 1948 and the Suez Crisis in 1956 and is a recipient of the Air Force Medal.
Former paratrooper Jaco van Gass, 38, receives an OBE for services to cycling.
He suffered serious injuries after being hit by a rocket-propelled grenade in Afghanistan, but bounced back to compete at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, winning two golds.
British Legion chief Lisa Farmer receives an OBE for services to the armed forces community.
Her work supporting veterans has raised a total of £120 million.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said: “Our veterans are the pride of our country. . . unsung heroes.”
Defense Secretary Lord Coaker said: “This year’s winners represent the best of us.”
