Gabrielle Union Reveals Husband Dwyane Wade Is Cancer-Free: 'It Was a Challenge'

Gabrielle Union gives an update of his husband Dwyane Wade’s health after removing the kidney cancer.

Basketball star Hall of Fame, 43, revealed in January an episode Wy network Podcast that 40% of the right kidney was removed after the Operation December 18, 2023.

After being requested by Sunny Hostin whether her husband “better” during Thursday, February 27 episode ViewUnion, 52, replied: “Yes, he had surgery without cancer, but that was a challenge.”

The initial news of Wade’s cancer diagnosis left the union “in such shock,” she said.

“You hear cancer [and] You are paralyzed because you mean the absolute worst scenario. I had so many friends who survived from cancer, “she continued.” I didn’t go there; I went to ‘he left.’ ”

She said that her loved ones needed “some time” to digest news.

“He didn’t say everything. He didn’t even say our whole family. He really wanted this to be very under the radar. He didn’t tell anyone,” Union said.

The actress and Wade share a 6-year-old daughter, Kaavia James. In addition, Wade is the father of Zaire, 23 and Zaya, 17, with his ex -wife, Siuvartuhn Funches, and has a son named Xavier, 11, with Aja Me Metoyer. He is also a legal guardian of his nephew, Dahveon Morris, 21.

While publicly revealing its diagnosis in January episode Wy network Podcast, Wade said, “It was the first time my family, my father, my children, saw me poorly.”

“That moment was probably the weakest point I’ve ever felt in my life,” Wade said. “The moment I was alone, I fought, the dog.”

Although he did not want his family to see him in that country, he said that in the end they were one of the main reasons why he had opted for surgery.
