The mother of three told her followers that she is trying to find a silver lining in the midst of a family tragedy.

“I always like to look at the bright side of everything,” explained Mykelti, 27. “The bright side of his death is that he’s obviously no longer in pain or hurt or sad because he’s in a better place. At least I hope he is in a better place.”

She continued: “The other bright side is that I got to see my whole family together for the first time in many years. And I think ultimately, obviously, Garrison would be happy about that.”

The TLC star added that the family will continue to honor Garrison at upcoming events.

“We have some more things for him, in his honor, next month and some more in the next few months,” she said. “There’s a Brown family reunion in Wyoming. Many of my family, most of them, will be paying their respects.”

She then asked followers to give her and the Brown family privacy as they navigate the grieving process.

“Please don’t ask me any questions about Garrison or my family. Not my family, sorry, about the events surrounding this,” she shared. “You can ask questions about my family, but not about the events surrounding this because I will cry.”

“I think most of my siblings generally agree that none of our lives are private, really, because our parents are public and a show. But this is ours. This is private,” she added.

Mykelti also wrote a touching tribute to Garrison on social media Monday. After sharing two quotes about pain and the experience of love, Mykelti wrote: “My heart breaks for my brother who is no longer with us, but he rejoices knowing that he is with his fellow warriors in Valhalla, drinking and fighting with Odin. ”
