The Sun can exclusively reveal that the 35-year-old former partygoer is currently in talks with MTV bosses following his heartbreaking split with wife Emma McVey.

A show insider reveals: “For a long time Gaz felt like he was done with Geordie Shore – he even snubbed the show’s big reunion show last year, despite various attempts by the cast to get in touch with him.

“In recent years he just wanted to live a quiet family life out of the limelight, but after the recent breakdown of his marriage, he’s been thinking a lot and feels ready to rediscover the old Gaza and return to the show that made him a star.”

Producers have long wanted to bring Gaz back into the mix, with his ex Charlotte Crosby recently announcing she would be leaving the series for good, so they were fiercely determined to lure the original cast to fill the void.

“The show knows that losing Charlotte is a huge blow, and to keep things fresh and exciting going forward, they’ve decided to bring Gaz back into the fold when filming resumes next year.

“The contracts have yet to be signed, but there have been many productive conversations and it’s essentially a done deal.”

Charlotte’s latest series has already been filmed and will air in the coming months.

The recently concluded series was originally thought to be the last series of the long-running series, but was saved from cancellation after bosses raved about all the drama that ensued during filming.

Production will therefore begin on the second series in early 2024, which will air later that year, when Gaz will make his sensational return.

“For Gaz, Charlotte not being on the show actually helped his decision because the two of them had been through a lot of ups and downs in the past that he wasn’t particularly interested in.

“In this way, it’s an opportunity for him to start anew, but in a familiar format with old friends.”

The Sun has contacted MTV for comment.

Gaz was part of the original Geordie Shore cast in 2011 when the series first hit our screens.

He then quit in 2017 but starred in two series of spin-off show Geordie OGs, which followed several cast members in their real lives outside the Geordie Shore house.

He then quit his job for the second time in 2020 and married then-girlfriend Emma in 2021.

The couple, who first got together in 2016, have two children, Chester, five, and Primrose, three.

Gaz stunned his followers last month when he announced the marriage was over.

“We got divorced three weeks ago,” he said on social media. “We’re still friends, there’s no bad blood or anything and we’ve figured out the best way to do it for the kids, which for me and Emma is always worth being the most important thing.
