George Clooney becomes a knight!
The actor attended the London screening of his film, Boys in a boat with wife Amal Clooney on Sunday and made sure they were both protected from the typically wet British night by holding an umbrella.
Amal, 45, had her hair down for the event as she wore a fitted velvet dress, while George looked dapper in a dark suit and white shirt.
George, 62, also took time to sign autographs for fans as well as pose with the film’s stars Joel Edgerton, Callum Turner and Bruce Herbelin-Earle.

Back in October, PEOPLE got an exclusive first look Boys in a boat, which George directed. Adapted from Daniel James Brown’s book of the same name, the film follows the journey of the University of Washington rowing team to the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin.
“Rowing, especially in the 1920s, was the No. 1 sport attended in the United States,” George said in a behind-the-scenes clip of the film. “Boys in a boat is about strong, tough children, but they were poor and hungry. They row because it was the only way they could stay in college.”

George Clooney and Amal Clooney Relationship Timeline
On September 29, George and Amal were joined by their parents for another glamorous night out at Scalinatella in New York.
Holding hands with mother Nina Clooney, the actor wore a black button-down shirt and blue jeans. Nina also held hands with Amal’s mother, Baria Alamuddin, who was dressed in a black top, gray tweed trousers and silver pointy heels.
While Amal’s father, Ramzi Alamuddin, was not photographed during the outing, the human rights lawyer was seen holding hands with George’s father, Nicholas Clooney, as they left the restaurant.
George and Amal, who share twins Alexander and Ella, six, married in Venice, Italy in September 2014.
